walls and I have had this discussion about Baldy Cramer before. he's just a younger version of Dan "Danny Dork" Dorfmann from years ago. "Danny Dork" damn near went to jail for frontrunning his touts on the old FNN which morphed into CNBC.
betcha if you checked Baldy's associates E mail and phone records, there tipping people off. he's got people positioning for him before he touts some dogshit stock.
NSA should have something. they have it on everyone else!!!
btw, don't be fooled by some short covering rally. the play is STILL the QID's. NASDAQ index WAY out of wack with the S&P.

Im agree with the Nasdaq point and would add keeping adding to SKF...I just see a relentless series of bad news coming out of the financials, and until any expert can come on TV and tell me when they stop making those type of writedown announcements, SKF keeps going up.So far no one can say anything about the cut off of bad CDO news...
Still going to add to MSFT on drops however.

I agree, I am looking to buy MSFT on weakness and do the long-haul thing with it.
Unfortunately, with the present oil fiasco have an ill-effect on anything dependent on transportation, I am going to dump Sysco (SYY) today and use the proceeds and miniscule profits to put on MSFT. SYY is a long-term winner, even though its national supply chain project has been very poorly managed, but I don't have time to play an attrition game with "food vs oil vs transportation" when there are better money vehicles out there such as MSFT
Look it, also, Vermeer, I know full well your stance on the automotive future and how it relates to oil, and you may be right in the short term, medium term, or long term.....who knows? But what I do know is that THERE IS technology to replace the internal combustion engine and not be at all indirectly "petroleum based" in some form. So be skeptical if you want, I've heard it all before, but I am going to find the way to play this out, cause oil and the internal combustion engine's days are numbered, in my opinion.
Have a good week-end everyone.
Cheers

Over 6,000 products or more are made from petroleum. Just getting rid of the internal combustion engine (desirable in my opinion, unfortunately decades in the future, obviously, in terms of true replacement) is not going to eliminate the need for petroleum.
More practical would be to develop a car that makes vastly better use of the petroleum it requires.Tax viciously those who ionsist on wasting gasoline (ie, 3/4s of the people in my neighborhood.) make them choose much smaller vehicles or pay a serious price.ETC etc.
Fuel cells electrics are great, but as a practicality, you are talking way too many years in the future to have any impact on oil demands in the coming years.

I am tempted to play some of these beta stocks for a rally today..like yesterday.
The problem is with options the premiums are TERRIBLE..just horrible.
CRDC priced the secondary, awful pricing..but given the size of the offer relative to the float and outstanding shares, I can imagine it was tough to move..
Probably why the stock has bounced nice so far..

Oh JEEZ!!! Joe Bats!!! actually I don't think Battaglia was as big a crook as Danny Dork or Baldy. I have no idea where that guy is anymore. last I saw him was on some Faux News saturday morning "business" show which was 90% political bashing and 10% business.

they might know Joe Bat better..

Really am liking the sell-off in SPWR. Am going to add it as a long-haul holding "eventually."
I think this sell-off has legs all day long.
Am putting in a GTC buy of SPWR at 107.17, and then I ain't selling unless it goes to zero (will have no choice) or until all the lies during this coming election have been told.
SPWR, in the next year, either goes to 5 or higher than it is now.
LONGS:
CRDC (current)
GTLS (current)
MSFT (future)
SPWR (future)

Shake it off, man. Happens every day to the best of 'em. As you know, how you deal with losses separates the winners from the losers.
Just keep enough ammo on reserve at all times....you'll know when to unleash hell, man.
This sell-off in SPWR is music to my ears, cause I want it for the long haul. I don't even want to attempt "trading" this one, cause I'll miss the ride trying to time it. I got no problem basically going "all-in" on this one....if it goes to zero, then so be it.
Think about the elction coming up......the debates......the promises.....the lies......the coverage-ad infinitum......these sheetheads running for office will all talk the talk on solar power.
Yesterday, when SPWR was 165, I wanted to freakin puke.....I was terrified that it would go to 500 before stopping, and I'd be standing there looking like an a55hole the whole time.
This sell-off is wonderful, and I hope it lasts all day long. People jumping out of windows is what we need (the bad people, that is).
Cheers

Good point...and not much capital risked here, about 7k is all, and the options werent out of the money..
Stock looks sick today, as does FSLR. I expected more strength in the group since they have been momentum players and held in great lately..but not today.
Will be interesting to see if they try to rally things at all, thus far no signs of any attempt outside a 20 pt move on the DOW here or there.
