I think to become a citizen in Canada or America someone should earn it by showing that they pay taxes and then they should lose it if they do not follow key rules issued by the immigration
I mean that seriously. Being a citizen does not qualify anyone to do anything inappropriate or illegal and still stay on the continent. I came here more than 40 years and I have never committed a crime, I don't do drugs I completed college and I go the extra mile. These times are complex and people have to learn the gold the extra mile and be disciplined regardless of our hard the dam place is.
I don't care if people don't like me but I'm proud that I can be disciplined and do what's right and try to motivate my colleagues and my family. This has nothing to do with Donald Trump. I don't need to live in a lot of state like Haiti or Somalia. And I didn't come here to change all the rules to make it my way. And I'm gonna continue the embrace the laws that are right and that have song morality and do my best to suffice daily. That's my culture and my mentality and I advise any 12 try the best to do the same amen. Have a good day and I'm welcome to your criticism even though I know many people are gonna top a lot of negativity I don't care and I'm still gonna do what I think is right Amen

I have always been a fan of this. Ok, you have obtained citizenship being from a foreign country, but now what?
It should be like the DMV in a way. You only get to keep your license if you are a good driver, otherwise the DMV can and should take it away. You can create a list of tiered crimes for non-natural born citizens who have obtained citizenship and if you cannot stay within that tier then you should lose citizenship.
The problem is, a lot of those that come into the country do not wish to go about it the right way and that in itself creates the problem. They want no part of our government knowing who they are so they can hide underneath it all but still obtain the benefits of what the country provides, whatever that may be for them at the time.
I say, do something or try something different than what is currently being done now because as of right now this is not working and is creating a divide and costing taxpayers money. I am all for illegals going through the process of becoming a legal citizen, but I am certainly opposed to those who intentionally avoid doing so. Every country has a process of becoming a legal citizen of that country if you are non-born there, if it is even allowed, and so however long it takes or whatever the process you should be following that. If you are not, then what are you hiding or what is your agenda/motive.
Quit with this nonsense that just because you snuck into the country you should have the same rights and due process of those who are citizens or went through the process to become a legal citizen. You should have zero rights, just as any of us would if we snuck into their country. The whole idea that the America was founded on immigrants is long gone. It's a once was but should not be a here and now. Things change. The world has changed. People have changed. Coming to the country to reap the benefits it offers is simply taking it away from someone who is legally there and ow cannot obtain those same benefits. I'm sorry your country sucks that you have to flee it, but not sure how that becomes the problem of another country. It's the facts of life. You got handed a raw deal, but you cannot run and hide somewhere else and expect that everyone is gong to be ok with it. Do people know and understand how hard ti would be to become a citizen in another country? It's not easy, and for a reason. There is an entire vetting process that takes time, including a health check to becoming a citizen.
It's not for your convenience that these measures are in place. It's for the safety and well-being of those already identified within those borders. Tells us who you are and let the process vet you or get the hell outta here. Nobody owes you anything!

To apply for citizenship, new applicants must prove permanent residence by filing income tax returns for several years. There are already laws that revoke citizenship for various reasons such as crime. However citizenship by birth cannot be revoked. Constitution guarantees basic rights for everyone regardless of status. Illegal immigrants already have fewer rights than legal immigrants.

Right, but you are leaving out one critical key piece of information in response...you have to have a green card for 3-5 years and file taxes before trying to obtain citizenship....what does having a green card mean and filing taxes? That you are here lawfully and our government knows who you are, just like any other natural born citizen....no one is talking about being in the country lawfully with documents, but rather those without documents and who are not here legally....there is a vast difference between the two...one is abiding by the law while the latter is circumventing and bypassing the law...if you are bypassing the law, when the country provides an opportunity to legally be here, then you should go because your intentions may not be true or you may not be who you say you are....herein lies the problem...
