sparky....whats the thinking there? think kershaw is going to a wainwright type beast?

Well I missed out on Zito and I really wanted him. I saw projected his starts and he has a super easy schedule to start the season which would help me for the 1st Half pot. If he's the #3 starter and the rotation goes as planned...this is his first 2 months.

The teams with the bats come to AT&T and the then he goes to places like Petco, Citi etc.

And then...I don't really see a difference between Wainwright and Kershaw aside from the fact that Kershaw may pick me up a few more strikeouts. I do think he has a huge season as well. I didn't want to get rid of Garland...but I think Zito was the better catch.

Basically...I made a trade because I wanted Zito.

And it's funny how things turn out.

I was going to trade Wainwright and Kazmir for Verlander. Kazmir hits the DL...I miss out on picking up Zito off FA. And now I get him and a guy who gets more K's than my top guy and pitches just as well with a better overall lineup imo. AND...now I can keep Kazmir too. I don't have to do a 2 for 1 and give up wins. And it was all about if Roundin wanted Wainwright or not.

But overall...it really does seem like an even trade. I did give up 2 "Ace's" to get a 1 (maybe a 2 guy) and a 3 guy. But we'll see how it works out. However...I don't think I want Padilla anymore. I guess I'll keep him around until Kazmir or Lidge comes back. I have no idea who I'll drop when these guys come back...I have my ideal roster now.

the difference between kershaw and wainwright.....IMO wainwright has done it and been a beast, kershaw has only in stretches

a lot more wins in wainwright....he k's will come back down around 180 probably though

The mets, dbacks, cardinals, rockies and padres all rocked him last year lol

But if Kershaw has that season to finally make him the elite pitcher he's supposed to be...than I hit the jackpot. And 243 innings for Wainwright last season. Over 100 more innings than the season before. Kershaw is closer to 60 more innings. He'll be in the running for Cy Young this season...but Halladay will win it without question.

Yes...but his 2nd half was incredible and nobody is talking about his big contract anymore. I think he can go free and easy and just be himself as the 3rd pitcher in that rotation.

good luck....no shame in going for some guys you think will do good...just relying on Zito, eeeek

Well Sabathia had a really bad spring. As did Wandy Rodriguez. Doesn't mean that will translate into a bad season.

I have to admit Sparky making a trade for Barry Zito post-circa 2002 is kinda funny.  That being said, it is your team and you operate it the way you want.  Kershaw has a lot of upside too.  BOL!

I kinda pulled the offer off the table. If it's ok...I want to get Hamels 1 start for the week and get what I can from him before I let him go. Maybe his start will sway you away or maybe sway me away...but I at least want to see if he can get me a win and some Ks.

Kemp was said to be batting 2nd....guess it doesn't matter because he'll get more RBIs. 5th is definitly not it though....Martin batting 2nd? really...

DUMB QUESTION..........if we pick up a free agent today can we start him today,, or does it take a day or two for him to be eligable on your roster??????

I'm we'll aware who Colby Rasmus is haha,  I was picking up another player it happened to between him or Brandon Wood

I believe its one day....  This way people can't just add pitchers on a Sunday to catch categories

a free agent goes into your team the next day
