That's what I'm talking about. Rookies, jersey, balls etc. Especially cards that are limited.

I have a Dwight Howard rookie autograph on a basketball card. Worthless. Same with a rookie DWade autograph. Worthless.

Cards nowadays are saved and put into casings directly. In the older days...cards were put into bike spokes, making good ones incredible rare. Cards have become more and more worthless unless limited ones are made.

I actually collect. Mainly hockey cards, but I buy some baseball and basketball.

As with anything to the average person card collecting seems stupid and useless, but in the right circles collecting can be fun and rewarding.

Most of the fun is opening packs and boxes, never knowing what your gonna get and then plucking that rare gem...it's a great feeling.

I have bought tons of packs and boxes at the local hobby shop, and I have a pretty Impresive collection, rookie cards are the best cards to get and you never know who will be good. When Claude giroux

When Claude giroux had his first RC you could have had them for 5 bucks, now try getting one for 50 is a great find, and who knows how much it will go up in value as he becomes a better player.

A customer at the local hobby shop plucked a Sidney Crosby RC that was serial numbered 1/1 and he sold it online for almost 10g's

Plus all the cool memorabilia cards that are out there. It's great to have some of those items. Where else will I be able to own a piece of Wayne Gretzkys jersey that is game worn with a autograph on it, certified by upper deck!

It's the thrill of the hunt. I was reading a article about a guy who was trying to collect Albert pujols letter cards...they actually took the letters off the back of one of his jerseys and put it on a card and he signed each one, there is only 6 made one for each letter. And through card shows and eBay and other sites he has managed to locate 3 so far, imagine how cool it would be if he found all 6?

I agree. When I was a kid (like last week), I used to love doing that. And I still do. But I can't find anywhere to sell the cards to get a good return from it. I swear...I need to open my own store to get the profit that I want. They're worse than Gamestop when it comes to giving you money back for your product and then selling it for top value. The only difference is...Gamestop can't sell games for more than 60. Card stores can sell cards for book value.

You did what I did. You throw players in a deal that you don't want or are willing to drop to "even it out". I rather have Afflalo over Reddick or Douglas.

And while I want more assists...if I trade DWill I'm back at stage one in needing 3's and points. I'd need RJeff.

You did what I did. You throw players in a deal that you don't want or are willing to drop to "even it out". I rather have Afflalo over Reddick or Douglas.

And while I want more assists...if I trade DWill I'm back at stage one in needing 3's and points. I'd need RJeff.

You're not stupid. You're not going to make a deal that YOU don't like. I have my preferences...but I'm not pulling the trigger if it's not going to work for me.

And hell...I don't even like RJeff that much. I don't expect him to keep this up to be honest.

Can't trade Monroe now that I just traded Lee and Hayes went down (and is now picked up by LeBobs). And no...I have no interest in Hickson.

Hey phillyfan...take into account Lee's stats from Friday. He had 7 turnovers, 1 steal and had a double-double. Just in case you're interested when you look at the final for the week considering how close turnovers are right now.

We both know Harden isn't a real bench player.

Odom was a bench player last season too. He did pretty well for himself.

i bought 3 boxes of 2011 press pass football over the weekend. got a sick deal on it so i figured why the hell not.

first pack pulled a Cam Newton Auto serial #/50 spent 0.50$ on beckett.com to check its worth..

boom a quick 100$.... if I get it graded it could jump all the way to 350$.

I always try to buy 3-5 boxes of press pass every year keep one full set for my self.. keep autos and jersey and inserts of bengals and players I really like and sell off the rest..

safe to safe if i Get the 100$ for Newton and keep everything else i only lose a measly 25$ on the whole deal.

The rest of the autos were a bummer
