Lately I have seen a lot of member insulting, bashing, and questioning of moderators ability to control the boards.
There are a few members who more than occasionally will tell moderators that they are not doing their jobs, they show favoritism and they allow aliases to freely participate in the forums.
It is my belief that the moderators know what they are doing and certainly know more of the covers "mission statement" than regular "civilians"
I feel there should be a specific rule that allows a moderator to box people who make personal insults towards any moderator.
Certainly honest disagreements on sports items, politics and values and morals is a normal thing among individuals, but there is no need for people to use terms like "idiot" ( and others ) when replying to a moderators point of view.
If covers wants to keep the forums clear of bashing, I believe it has to start with respect toward the moderators.
After all, if someone is allowed to freely insult the moderators who oversee these boards, those same people will have no problem bashing regular members.
I would suggest an addition to the manifesto that is worded something like this:
Contempt for Moderators
Insulting, harassing, or bashing moderators, or failing to do something that was requested that you do by a moderator is not tolerated.
Violating any of the above may result in your being boxed or banned by any moderator. It is also within the moderators discretion to do nothing.
If you have a complaint with a moderator at covers.com, do not take the discussions to the boards, first try to PM the moderator, and if still unhappy with the situation email covers feedback of post your issue in the help forum.
