A couple years ago Gibbs had a defense that was +25 in TO Margin. Houston was +8 in TO margin this year. Gibbs and the staff most likely wouldn't have been brought back by new HC Tom Herman
The qb who is transferring is Vincent Testaverde who is obviously the son of former NFL qb Vinny Testaverde. Testaverde was a freshman walk-on and because he wasn't on scholarship he's eligible to play at any FBS school next year. However Texas Tech has to give permission to him for schools to contact him and they can nix any school they want. Testaverde wants to transfer near his family's home in Tampa
1st i think the Gibbs hire is good as Texas Tech's defense was an absolute abortion. The defenses at Houston were aggressive and trying to force turnovers which Texas Tech desparately needs
Though Testaverde played in 1 game since Kingsbury has gotten to Texas Tech they've had a ton of qb's transfer out and you'd think qb's would want to play in that offense under Kingsbury. That is something i find fascinating.
Just keeping everyone informed Your thoughts guys?
