20 paid?...even original over/under 35 by 20th was high even if get 30 probably should change prizes to top 3 instead of 5

Yea, think if its under 30 (which it looks like), only Top 3 should be paid

Guys we still have some time to go before the deadline. If we finish with under 30 participants, then yes, I will probably lay it out for the top three places.

Some things you need to know
  • 10 picks a week. I will select games that have a opening spread of 7 points or less. You will then rate them from 10 being the strongest to 1 being the weakest. Correct picks receive the points you allotted and losing picks will also deduct points as well.
  • Since Im running this challenge I have asked SatNightFever05 to play the Banker. If you dont know him, get to know him he's a good contributor to the forum. I feel that Since Im running the challenge it would be right to have another person involved especially to handle the money.
  • The entry fee is $50. We will be using Paypal to collect and payout the winners.  If you do not have a Paypal account, it's free to create one- just go to paypal.com, click Sign Up, enter in some information, enter in your bank info (so you can send/receive money).

I don't think he was suggesting there was any advantage.  Games of that sort are typically not my wheelhouse either, and I probably play more totals than sides.  Anyway, I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Seems like if it was a CFB contest ...all posted games would be used ....Maybe Post the Lines on Tuesday/Wednesday and set a Friday Deadline ....

What I am saying is The 10 Random games with a spread of 7 or less you choose might NOT be on my radar.....

 Why have everyone picking the same Games ?

Double.....i will post the 10 games sunday night, then everyone will have until friday night to post there selections.

I will choose 10 games with spreads of 7.points or less. You will then make your choices by either taking or giving the points and then rank them on a scale from 1 to 10. You can only choose a number once. It's not like ypu can pick 8 on ever play. Rank your picks from 1 to 10. You will receive points for wins and lost points for games you lose.

Example, if you pick team "a" and place a value of 10 on them and they win, you will receive 10 points. Vice versa as well, if they lose you will then lose 10 points.

I Understand the Rules .... Just think it takes alot of the "skill" out of it .....

I think double has a point of reducing the skill.  Dont get me wrong I am not saying its going to be easy, but when you have 10 games to look at and rate, the isolation  will definately make it easier than yanking the 10 games out of a possible 60 games.

The skill is picking the winners out of the pile games, just my thoughts, I can live with the current plan

 I understand both sides..........throughout the season, though, there are some weeks where 3-5 of the "sharp" games may be two crappy Sunbelt or MAC teams........games that may be considered coin flips because both teams are so bad. But there will also be plenty of top matchups too.

 I'm thinking you may have more choices & action on key numbers if you go with, say, games @ 15 or under.

 Just a thought..........it's the same for everyone regardless.

It's a good contest and the only reason I'm not in is because I'll be travelling a lot in October and won't be able to look at games enough to bet my money anyway.  Is the person who wins the 'best' capper here -- of course not; just the one who did best this particular season in this particular contest.  If you held 5 other contests in different years, you would have five different winners in all likelihood, so don't get caught up in the way its set up; just everyone do their best and it should be a very interesting contest and very likely a lot of the rankings of games among the more seasoned posters here on covers will look very similar.  BOL to all .... (Boom, wish you could get BGK & Alien_1 to participate, very sharp cappers IMO, as well as Ice4Blood.... don't know if you invited them or not).  BOL this season ....
