No, Vols picked up a quarterback in the spring, Vegas had their total set at 8-4, with the juice favored for that to go under…leaps and bounds from where we were a few years ago, very good chance at finishing 9-3, maybe 8-4, and Tennessee beats Tennessee more than anyone else does…. keep the Vols top twenty and decent bowl, there are a lot of teams that would trade places with them
Heupel is not going anywhere. His 3 losses are Georgia, Bama and Oklahoma. Other than that he has taken care of business. Sure his coaching decisions aren't always the best but you have to remember 2 things.
1. they just made the CFP last year.
2. with how many big program vacancies out there, who are you going to get? Tennessee is not seen as a top program.
You guys are the fans of the program so you have more insight, but I wouldn't move on just yet.

He isn’t going anywhere but if he doesn’t improve, which it looks like he isn’t capable of, then he is gone after 26 or 27…we aren’t interested in being mediocre, we can go get Franklin, Kelly or any other of the fired bums to win 8 games a year…winning 8 in Knoxville is just showing up, doing nothing and going home and collecting a paycheck…add the extra Sec game next year and things heat up even more, this isn’t the Big Ten where you only have to get ready to play 1-2 games a year and work on things the other 7 conference games with no chance of losing…every team is capable here and if a coach can’t get his team up or learn simple situational football play calling or clock management then he prob would best fit elsewhere

To be perfectly transparent, I feel that Texas A&M is a bit inflated and if you guys had their schedule you would probably be a 1 loss team right now. Not saying they haven't played well or are not a top 7 team, but outside of the ND on the road win, they have had a pretty favourable schedule. They avoided Georgia and Bama.

Hate to tell you man…Vols have one of easiest schedules when it pertains to Sec both last year and this year. Our 3 Sec wins are Ark, Ky, and Ms St…those teams have a combined 2 wins in conference and are easily at the bottom along with Auburn. Our coaches basically lost the UGA with ridiculous play calling and time management…even managed to freeze our own kicker after the team was going to bail them out. That Oklahoma team last night was not ready to play and the Vols had opportunity to break them in the first half, then the same stupid undisciplined football began. Go back and watch the tape on this as well…Vols come out of half down 6…get a stop and score to go up 1. Offense is doing fine again. They then force a turnover and they manage to call three Friggen run plays…don’t pick up a first down and give the ball back to OU at midfield and all the momentum with it. OU up to that point was useless on offense and they only had the QB run as a bail out. Needless to say the Vols never touched the ball again with a lead. It’s a joke at how bad they manage these games.

-NIL came into being in the summer of 2021 but really started to roll in 2022 and by 2023, it was a dominant influencer, along with the portal for how teams were able to ATTRACT + RETAIN (<< probably most important ?)
-what do I notice the most as a bettor? >> huge disparities in units of offense vs defense from year to year for a various number of reasons so whomever in the SEC can get some consistency in building/retaining coaches and units of the team, you will begin to see the SEC become the dominant league again perhaps (when I say dominant, I mean leave no doubt!)
Laying the blame on the coach here is not the way to go in my opinion, IF a program is regularly a .600+ winning % like they pretty much have been with Heupel.....the thing the Vols program needs to do along with others in the SEC and in football in general, is find a way to feed and retain their system and players with a coach ala Ryan Day and now how Curt Cignetti is showing over 2 seasons of great improvement
Somewhere in the whole coaching carousel that we are seeing in the NCAAF programs, is a formula that is flawed and rather should be addressing how programs retain talent/attract talent so that coaching philosophy and consistency could positively influence units of the team
Its really shocking to me how the Vols defense went from a Top 5 Unit to a Bottom 25% worst unit in NCAAF......

Well they lost first round players, the all American DB has been out all season, and they lost productive players to the portal who wanted a bigger shot elsewhere…absolutely no depth at D…oh yes plus the coordinator isn’t the best…if that’s helps you with why the defense isn’t great..I will say this, they make big plays from time to time and come up with turnovers so they really aren’t the reason we have lost games…they are just the easy group statistically to blame
Stats matter but they don’t tell the full tale…get too involved with statistics and you won’t see the true picture
So if Texas AM goes to Playoffs ....how are they going to do vs top BIG10 ?

The answer lies in my post above and the evidence we have seen the past couple of seasons so it filters through the SEC in general and some other conferences ....leak and cohesion + not hording the very best talents is the difference, not the coach haha.....he can't make good chicken salad if he is dealing with so-so ingredients and missing ingredients

What are you talking about man…there is one Big Ten team…so maybe A&M and Bama won’t beat Ohio St…Maybe they will…Smdh..Ohio St would add 1-2 more losses per season though if they were in the Sec…maintaining health and having stress free football weekends sure does the trick
You don't understand.... BIG 10 is solid and would dominate SEC....maybe, maybe....1 loss for Buckeyes and they are technically in a reload/semi-rebuild themselves so no advantage except better collective talent likely...same with Indiana
I have been beating this drum for 3 yrs that a change has been happening before our eyes and I have been proven correct two years in a row, and highly likely we get a third year unless you can pontificate on the better talent and greater motivation from an SEC team because that is what its going to take. The fact that you say Vols are a flawed team and they have a winning record says a lot about the SEC ....think about that

Dude..just how flawed and uneducated are you. The Big Ten having one team winning a title at the end does not mean the conference is anywhere near what the Sec is. Those teams will never understand how tough it is to show up each and every week and have to give your all. When you don’t you lose. In the Big Ten you just have play mediocre and you ease to wins. This is why the Big Ten only has a few teams that have won a title in a lifetime while half the Sec has. It’s simply different and much tougher. As for the Vols..we don’t have a winning record in the conference, try keeping up dude. We have also only beat bottom dwellers in the Sec this year. Again,when you speak, talk with your brain and not out of your ass.
