Johnny Manziel doesn't deserve to win the heisman trophy....

I'll give my reasons and then all of you will probably rip me a new one

I like Johnny Manziel as do i would say most  cfb fans. I've enjoyed watching him play from game 1 vs florida to beating Bama in Tuscaloosa to going point for point with La.Tech what a freshman season its been as well as season 1 for A&m in the SEC. Hell most people will tell you he should win based on going to tuscaloosa and crapping on a nick saban defense.

My reasons as to why he shouldn't win are

1. He is a freshman. Maybe i'm the only 1 i'm just not big on a freshman winning the heisman

2. His offseason arrest. I'm big on charcter guys moreso with coaches but i would hate to think that someone who was arrested for whatever he was arrested for shouldn't be rewarded with a heisman. I think he needs to pay for that

3. Where was Johnny Football when i needed him? Week 2 all 4 of you might remember i had a big play on A&M beating Florida and he played a great 1H against a  great will muschamp defense but where was he in the 2H? His play in the 2H cost me a big win and could've sent me down the path of a losing season. He's got to be called on the carpet for it

I've never met Manziel i really enjoy watching him play hopefully i win a lot of bets on his team in the coming years but he's not the heisman winner. Most won't agree and thats fine but for his problems in the offseason to his 2nd halves vs Florida and LSU i can't reward him with the heisman

Honestly tigger i could give 2 craps about the heisman. I think its a garbage award. I just hear thsi stuff about manziel and while i like him to me he doesn't deserve it. If i had to vote i'd go Te'o. What was his bad game? He's in the community no problems with the law etc. i think he should get it based on his play and charcter

I've seen many defenders that put up better numbers than Teo that were never considered for the Heisman. If you watched the TAM Bama game then you will understand why Manziel deserves the Heisman.

also forgot to put this in about Manziel i didn't like the pat attempt vs Sam Houston State. I thought that showed no class and it left a bad taste in my mouth

I agree with you pack, at least on your first and third points. Character obviously has no place in the heisman award, cam and reggie just to name two... I also disagree with teo winning it. Big is right with his point. I still like Klein to win it. That loss to baylor stung but what candidate doesn't have a loss?? We are all enamored with jonny football cuz he's a frosh doing amazing things. I would much rather see Klein or barner win the thing.

1. Why does it matter what year he is? That is the worst reason you give.

2. I did not know he was arrested. Could you elaborate please? Was he convicted of anything? I have been arrested and the charges dropped and I did nothing wrong.

3. So you lost a bet and think he should not get the trophy because of that? You want to punish someone else because you were on the wrong side?

1.) Why does it matter that he's a freshman? Just because no freshman has won before? If they're not going to consider freshman the NCAA should just disqualify them right off the bat. If anybody was having close to the season he is I might agree with you that an upperclassman should edge him out, but nobody including Klein is really that close.

Problem with the Heisman is there is zero consistency in the criteria to win. It claims a persuit of excellence with integrity if that's the case Bush and Newton should have never won. If this award has any credibility based on its own stated criteria there should be no way Manziel wins based off the arrest. If he does win it illstrates the total zero meaning this award has come to embody.

I would agree with the character part of things in the reasoning why he should not get it. But like mentioned above, you can be arrested and have things dropped whether it was a mistake or whatever the case may be. If he did something stupid, then I agree with that reason.

thats how you base a heisman winner?

He would have my vote.  Nobody has stats like his, he is the most valuable player on that team.  Like you, I don't put much on the Heisman, ever since Geno Toretta won it.  Possible the worst college QB i ever saw.  Anyway, Manziel is a great football player and won the biggest game of the year.  He deserved the award and again his stats speak for themself. 

Teo is tied for 57th in the country in total tackles.  Enough said!

I don't know what he got arrested for but so did cam newton. I just think its a all season performance and he wasn't anymore exception then any other qb this season with the exception of be game. Manti Teo for hiesman. Thank you!

Manti Te'o would have my vote.  I might be a little biased since Notre Dame is my team.  But there is just something special about Manti.  He emobies what the Heisman Trophy is all about.  On and off the field.  He might be ranked 57 in the country in tackles, but he also has 7 interceptions at middle linebacker.  He makes every single player on that field better.  There is no way that team would be 12-0 if Manti left after his junior season.  He wasn't a season changer, this kid was a program maker.  If the Heisman Trust ever wants to make this truly a Player of the Year award, this is it.. Not just for what is done on the field, but for what he does off the field as well. Class act!

Also a captain and heart of one the best D's in the country and the only undefeated team in the country.

However, if it's only about numbers then Manziel is the guy
