HookEmHorns22,
I’m shocked the “Powers That Be” down in your neck of the woods hired a man of color as the face of their program!

I didn't know Charlie Strong was a Texas guy. Will be interesting to see if he can recruit the state like Mack Brown did for a decade.
Not sure that this is hire is going to work...I like the defensive pedigree, but there is only so much that you can do to slow down the offenses in the Big 12...pace and tempo sort of handcuff you to a certain degree.
The Big 12 is basketball on grass. If you can't score, you can't win. Ask TCU. Charlie better find a way to put up 30 ppg or he will be out in 2 seasons.
Texas is a different animal than Louisville. Anything short of a NT is a failure......best of luck.

Man… what you talking about! The Federal Reserve AND the University of
Texas print its own money… Charlie
Strong is an excellent recruiter, but he wouldn’t have to leave his office to
recruit at UT… All he will need is two
phones on his desk and a list of all the four and five star talent in The GREAT State of Texas… Those kids born and raised in that state would sacrifice
their left testicle to wear that burnt orange...

Strong could be out-recruited rather badly.
The game plan at Louisville was to steal a few recruits out of Florida every year. The plan at Texas is to win recruiting in the state of Texas, every year, period. Charlie's new bosses will expect that.
Like said above, WR's....and not to mention QB's, could be partial to the Baylor, Texas AM, Tech, OU and OSU's of the world.
This is not the best situation for a HC...I think that is why so many guys passed on it.....

I hope you are right.......watching the Stanford/Michigan State Rose Bowl was like a walk down memory lane, and was actually fun.
Nothing worse than watching a spread team jump out to a 28 point lead and not know how to run the clock to give themselves the best possible chance to win.
With all of this offense, seems like many coaches have lost the forest for the trees.

Uh, top WRs go to Alabama (i.e., Julio Jones). And I can't think of a more defensive-minded, run-oriented offense than Alabama. I'm sure they'll go to Texas esp if Strong can get more QBs like Bridgewater.
