cane4life - how are your Cane's going to come out against Pellini's Mighty Owls from FAU. I have capped it at Miami -24. Miami has 19 starters returning off a 7-5 team. Plus, FAU is bad, but played better D last year, so they exceeded expectations but still had a bad recrod. FAU will be starting a new QB in this game on Friday, August 30, 2013. I believe it may be on national TV. I know the spread is not set yet, but do you think, with FLA on deck with 7 full days to prepare, and the Coral Gables v. Boca recruiting battles, will Da U TCB against FAU???

Golden doesn't really try to blow out lesser opponents.....he was like that at Temple so if Miami gives up 10+ points this one could be a close one (spread wise if the line is indeed -24)

That line sounds about right but personally I think Miami will win by about 35. This game reminds me of 09 I believe, when there was a little bit of hype behind the U over the off-season and we had FAMU to open up. Think we crushed them by 40. I'm anticipated Morris and Hurns to show the country what's good, and don't forget mr. duke johnson.
I'm biased as hell but i'm willing to put my money where my mouth is!

thanks for the takes...I think Miami will be uber motivated and know that they need to play at a high level to have a chance to beat Fla on Sep 7. This is my 2nd ranked game in week 1 behind Texas -37 over New Mexico St. I think the off field issues and the NCAA investigation will motivate the canes. And like Schlellenberger did while at Da U, south florida is Cane country and Golden is not going to let Pellini get any traction with the S Florida recruits. Golden is going to play in your face moxie cane football. After the game he will call recruits that he wants to tell them that this is only the beginning and if you want to win as part of a great program, come to Miami, if you want to lose, then go to FAU. If this were any other team other than FAU or another team in Florida, I may have reservations taking Miami and giving the points (ie Ball State, or Ohio). But, this is about recruits, this is about dominance, this is about execution, this is about playing Cane Ball.
Ok, I Know its only May Day (May 1), and another matchup up may surface that is better, but right now I have Texas and Miami at the top of my board. I only pick and bet on two teams per week, the best two, in my opinion.

Sorry but Cal favored against Northwestern by a touchdown is silly... Think it'll be a pk
Bears are usually pretty good at home ... might not be an easy trip for the Wildcats ... plenty of distractions .... Hippies and tree huggers might get them unfocused
