Man that EDM@CGY game was hard to watch. I lost 2.35 units. They will play again this week. CGY -5.5, now -6. Hmm. Revenge game, lol.
Another H/H series continues this week. The Banjo Bowl. SSK@WPG. Last week SSK survived 34-30 at SSK. Hmm, another revenge game. This time I will bite.
SSK@WPG : WPG (ML), -1.10. 1.10 to win 1 unit.
WPG is 8-1-0 SU in their last nine Banjo Bowl games, They are on a 5 game winning streak, & overall they are 13-7-0 SU, last 20 games. That's not a trend, that's a Habit!!
Yes SSK is the better, younger team this season but I will stick with WPG again for this game.
A little back story...
The "Banjo Bowl" moniker was coined by Blue Bombers board member David Asper in early 2004, inspired by an infamous comment made by Bombers placekicker Troy Westwood in the week prior to a 2003 Western Division Semi-final game between the two teams. Westwood was quoted in the media as saying that people from Regina were "a bunch of banjo-pickin' inbreds", which was a reference to the scene and song Dueling Banjos from the movie Deliverance. He later sardonically apologized for those comments, saying that "the vast majority of the people in Saskatchewan have no idea how to play the banjo." This further fuelled the Winnipeg–Saskatchewan football rivalry and has made the rematch game even more of an event. The game has been sold out every year since 2005.
So there you have it.
WPG on the ML for me in this revenge game.
More stuff later.

Hey Chef, great stuff as always! Where do you think the line for Ham/Mtl goes? Sitting at +3.5 is tempting for MTL, but I'm guessing 4th string qb still starting for MTL, so perhaps line moves to +4/+4.5?

Good question mattyp. Not sure yet who will start for MTL.
I do know this, HAM will be playing on 4 days of rest while MTL will be playing on 15 full days of rest.
Week 13 HAM was playing on 15 full days of rest VS TOR. They lost in a wild game on Labor Day.
Had HAM won that game it would have set up nicely for MTL this week.
I believe it will be Cameron Dukes this week (maybe)
Dukes (six-foot, 210 pounds) completed 143-of-199 passes for 1,444 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024, while rushing for 321 yards and four more majors
for the Argos. The man has CFL experience.
If MTL had Davis Alexander back, this game would be a slam dunk for MTL.
I am still thinking about this game.

Love Dukes! I don't think Alexander plays till next week, but the spot is just too good to pass up. Plus MTL getting a bunch of offensive weapons back. I'm taking the +3.5 now as I think they will disappear soon.
