The Greatest Show on Dirt reaches the final round as the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (56-11) battle the LSU Tigers (46-15) in the College World Series beginning Saturday night in Omaha.

LSU looks to make it six consecutive titles for the SEC, while the Chanticleers carry a 26-game winning streak into the opener of this three-game series.

My Coastal Carolina vs. LSU predictions and free betting picks are leaning toward the Under with top-notch starters Kade Anderson and Cameron Flukey taking the mound on Saturday, June 21.

Coastal Carolina vs LSU prediction

My Coastal Carolina vs LSU best bet: Under 8.5 (-110 at BetMGM)

The College World Series comes down to two teams that absolutely deserve to be here. The LSU Tigers have been nothing short of dominant, while the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers haven’t lost since April 22.

Both teams used the minimum number of games to reach the Omaha finale, so both stables of arms will be well-rested and ready to shine.

Left-hander Kade Anderson gets the call for LSU in the opener. He was named a First Team All-American by Baseball America after racking up an 11-1 record with a 3.44 ERA.

The southpaw is in contention to be selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming MLB Draft, and he was fantastic last time out against Arkansas, allowing a single earned run across seven innings while recording seven punchouts.

The Chanticleers aren’t an easy out at the plate, but I don’t envision an offensive explosion against Anderson, who has recorded 170 strikeouts in 110 innings pitched. LSU goes about eight-deep with elite arms and is well-positioned from a run-prevention standpoint.

Coastal is going with Cameron Flukey in Game 1. The right-hander has a 7-2 record and 3.29 ERA, and the bullpen is nice and fresh after getting through the bracket with minimal difficulty.

The Chanticleers have mixed and matched their arms beautifully, combining elite pitching with tremendous defense. Flukey leads his team with 109 strikeouts and has limited opposing hitters to a .211 batting average.

Coastal head coach Kevin Schnall has proven that he will push any buttons necessary to prevent runs, and relief options like Ryan Lynch (0.58 ERA) and Dominick Carbone (2.48 ERA) are premier arms.

LSU coach Jay Johnson has terrific bullpen options like Casan Evans (2.05 ERA) and Chase Shores’ triple-digit heater, too.
