I gave Fresno too much credit last week and thought they might be able to cover, as did many you posting comments ahead of that one and the Donkeys won by 50+. This week, no such luck for Nevada. Boise State's defense will kill their spirit also, will get ahead early, and the game won't be close. Boise by three touchdowns if not more. |

Fresno has clearly proven that, if properly motivated, they can cover on the road against very good teams. On the other hand, oddsmakers are looking at the betting public being consistently too heavy on Boise and therefore they have to set the line high, and the fact that they were clocked at home by Hawaii - and Boise killed Hawaii. Fresno likely covers here if they show up to play IMHO. Just barely. Boise by 24.,

Hawaii has been surprisingly good this year, however they are headed to the blue turf. Although I expect this to be a competitive game, I would be surprised if they don't win this one by three touchdowns. Last week's line on Boise was overinflated and I laid off, and this week the line appears more fair. Boise State -22 here. |

That was then and this is now. Boise beat Wyoming on the road at 7,000 ft elevation 51-6, and Wyoming would beat San Jose State by two touchdowns. I don't think the is going to matter much to this Boise team. If San Jose State scores more than three points it will come from a BSU miscue. 'Nuff said.

If SJ State scores, the earth might rotate off its normal axis.

Nobody would be stupid enough to set a moneyline on this game at any odds. Boise State wins this game by 30 even if they start all the redshirt freshmen as Kellen Moore eats bonbons on the sideline. |

The Bears showed their defensive teeth last week and that will carry the day...just by a smidge...Cal plus the points..

If any of you paid attention last week when I recommended betting the FARM on Boise State in the first half...listen up.... The Donkeys (unlike Nevada) will not let up. SJ State is one of the worst teams in college football, and there is no way they even score unless there are serious miscues. Donkeys win by 45 minimum.

Notre Dame again schedules 8 games of 12 at home. And this patsy shows up. Of course they will win. They are a joke. They will win and may even cover. So what.

Let's see here...Cal beat UC Davis by 49. Nevada beat Cal by 21. SJ State just lost to UC Davis and in the process scored a lousy 13 points. I'm no genius, but it appears to me that Nevada has a good chance to cover this one by halftime unless their team bus crashes on the way to the stadium.

I am still kicking myself for not going bigger last week on the donkeys in the first half. They were -24.5 and the halftime score was 38-0. I am not missing my chance this week to LOAD THE WAGON in the first half as long as Boise is -27 or less. Boise wins this one big and probably covers. Boise killed Wyoming on the road and Toledo just puked all over themselves at home against Wyoming. Donkeys 49 Toledo 7

Oregon State only lost by 9 on the road at TCU in week one, which was impressive but I still think Boise State covers anything up to and including 17 points. Plus, throw in the fact that Oregon State is running so scared as to paint the grass blue at their practice facility that you have to think Boise St. has them psyched out from the get-go. BSU and the points. |

Cal is a quantum leap over Eastern Washington and Colorado State. Nevada allowed 162 rushing and 270 passing yards vs. Eastern Washington. Cal wins convincingly as their new an improved defense will bring Nevada back down to earth. Bears 38 Pack 20. |

I will say only this: BSU usually owns Nevada. I have a hard time believing that this time will be anything really new and different. Nevada might keep it close, but I look for Boise to win by 14 in a high scoring affair. Nevada wins with a prolific running game, and Boise is pretty good against the run and will have a good scheme. Donkeys 44 Wolfpack 30. |

I didn't think BSU would cover last week, but then again I didn't think Idaho would turn it over SEVEN TIMES for crying out loud. As for this tilt with Utah St., it looks to me like the Aggies are pretty good at home with their only loss being to Nevada by 3. Boise wins but doesn't cover the 24. |

Navy was the call last week, but this one is different. ND is overrated as usual and proved it last week, ending any chance for the BCS. Pitt wins this one by more than a touchdown. |

Idaho is 7-3. losing by 19 at Washington, 25 at Nevada, and 10 at home last weekend against Fresno State. Throw in the fact that this is a rivalry game and Idaho will play very, very hard. Boise by three touchdowns but they don't cover IMHO.

I just noticed that Notre Dame has 8 home games this year. What a JOKE. Navy covers and possibly wins outright. |

Given what they did to USC, I'm shocked that the Ducks are only minus 5 here. Ducks should cover, but Stanford is good at home so they might be able to keep it close. We'll have a better idea just how good the Ducks are after this one.

I think you are right that Boise is a bit overrated, but La Tech is not going to beat them outright. IMHO Boise wins by two touchdowns. Happy picking!
