Alouettes 17, Argonauts 14: Duron Carter and Tyrell Sutton scored touchdowns as host Montreal came from behind to clinch a playoff berth.

Carter finished with a game-high 181 receiving yards while Jonathan Crompton was 13-of-26 for 251 yards for the Alouettes (9-8), who won their sixth consecutive contest. Sutton rushed for 135 yards on 23 carries and Kyries Hebert, Alan-Michael Cash and John Bowman all sacked Toronto quarterback Ricky Ray.

Ray completed 26-of-35 for 209 yards and Mitchell Gale threw a touchdown to Mike Bradwell for the Argonauts (7-10), who fell to 2-7 on the road and will need help from Montreal next week to make the playoffs. Aston Whiteside forced the only fumble of the game.

Sutton scored on a 17-yard run 4:02 into the second quarter, but Montreal trailed 11-7 at halftime. Crompton engineered a 78-yard touchdown drive that ended in a 23-yard toss to Carter to put the Alouettes ahead 5:41 into the fourth quarter and their defence did the rest.

Ray suffered a lower-body injury late in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Trevor Harris. Harris received a golden opportunity to at least tie the game when the Argonauts recovered their own punt at midfield, but was unable to gain any yardage on the ensuing possession, sealing the victory for Montreal.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Argonauts DB Vincent Agnew left the game with a leg injury in the second quarter and DB Matthew Ware was helped off the field in the fourth quarter. … Toronto can still make the playoffs if it defeats the Ottawa Redblacks and the Alouettes win against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. … Alouettes DB Geoff Tisdale was sidelined for the second half after he was hit in the head by the knee of teammate Bowman late in the second quarter.
