If pipeline is not build, there will be more rail transport of oil which would increase deaths and injuries according to U.S. State department. Pipelines are safer and more economical than railways.
Tell me again why Obama and the liberals are opposed to the Keystone XL pipeline?

Yeah you are so unable to see a DEM point of view you completely ignore what is public and known.
First off, is this our supply we are shipping? Because it will be our tax dollars that pay for the upkeep and dismantle.
The path this takes is also completely wrong. I understand why as it is more direct and more profitable for the companies in question, but it does not dismiss the issues with its path.
Why would we SUPPORT it from a taxpayer perspective? Because of some short term limited jobs? That revenue gained will for sure be offset by the cost the environment and taxpayers bear long term.
I'd have less of an issue if the path were different and the purpose was 100% domestic, that the refining was also taxable..blah blah blah..
Reasons are obvious...unless your eyes are glued only on repub news sources.

I agree 100%. We are already getting hosed when it comes to tax revenue from mining. We don't get squat from the companies coming in to mine from other countries. Why go down the same road.

I believe the Keystone pipeline would be good for America..
If President Obama say's the Keystone pipeline will not create jobs and only benefit America a little ...you can bet the truth of the matter is the opposite .
For over six years president Obama has been lying to the American people.. Why would the Keystone pipeline be any different ?
Remember when Obama urges Congress to pass the $800 billion-plus Stimulus for "shovel ready jobs"...then two years later after the money was spend on other things ....he acknowledged that it was a lie, "there's no such thing as shovel-ready projects." and that "shovel ready jobs were not so ready.."
..and who can ever forget Obama telling Americans that "If you like the plan you have, you can keep it. If you like the doctor you have, you can keep your doctor "...
.or when Obama pledged to the American people that transparency would be a top priority in his administration..
President Barack Hussein Obama also made a solemn promise to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” yet he has consistently ignores the 10th Amendment.....
So, if Obama is against Keystone ...you can bet your sweet bippy, that the pipeline would be good for the countries energy and economic security,, create US jobs and serve our national interest....
Slim , if you like the pipeline then I'm sure you will be super pumped at the bill Bernie Sanders will introduce to the new congress! Rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure could quite possibly create 13 million jobs and DIRECTLY benefit the American people.

For those,, that get all their political information from the "Colbert Report" and believe Obama about the Keystone pipeline being "good for the Canadian oil industry but it’s not going to be a huge benefit to U.S" ...They are drinking the Obama cool-aid and believing false assumptions..
The oil shipped from Canada down to the Gulf of Mexico by way of the Keystone pipeline would be crude oil, not refined oil.
There are American refineries located all along the Keystone XL route,These refineries are in need of crude oil and are geared to use heavy crude, which is what Keystone would transport from Canada’s tar sands. Currently these refineries have to import it from nations such as Venezuela. But if they able to purchase Canada's crude, it would be cheaper ..
The US State Department has reported that it would not make economic sense for Canada to export its Keystone oil to other nations. They also find that the project would have a minimal impact on the environment.. so let it flow..

Crumbing infrastructure ? ...
How can we still have crumbling infrastructure.......President Obama was given over $800 Billion ( with a B) he said was needed to fill "shovel ready jobs" to repair the nations crumbling "Infrastructure" ..
Darkhorse ..you are not going to tell me that Obama didn't use all that money on something else ..are you ?

I dont get my info from reading blogs or biased sites..in fact I find those sites to be counterproductive.
You are mistaken with much of what you wrote..
The CDN oil is SOUR crude, it needs special refining, there are only a few refineries that process sour crude, most are not fitted for that. Go read up on sour crude refineries.
The oil does not stay here, it is not refined here..they sell forward production to China almost exclusively, the crude is processed by Valero offshore. Go read about Valero and their offshore refinery and how it evades US taxes.
So China buys this and the only market that has a MARGINAL benefit is Brent consumers..which is the market that China takes from..not NT crude which is OUR market.

Slim, please show me where O said all of the 800 billion ,yes with a "B" was to go to shovel ready jobs. I for some reason thought that the stimulus package was for a wide variety of things.

That was Obama's favorite selling point to Congress,to get the Stimulus money, but in 2011 he came clean and laughingly admitted we were Grubbered the "Shovel-ready wasn’t as Shovel-Ready as we expected.”
So were did all the Stimulus money go ?
I know were some of the money went $1.3 Million for Stimulus Highway Signs..$3.4 Million for a underground turtle tunnel and $535 Million to Solyndra .. two years later Solyndra filed for bankruptcy .. were did the rest of the money go ?
I'll help you ..take your pick : waste, fraud and abuse.

I am not familiar with this subject but how is that possible?
Just an example is Barrick Corporation headquartered out of Toronto Canada. Not getting near enough out of them compared to what they are profiting in Nevada.

People need to educate themselves about this. If people really knew there would be now way anyone but a stiff would support it.
The sour shale/tar oil which comes is already sold..it effects NT crude absolutely nada..it has a marginal effect on Brent because sands companies sell forward inventory to China..
Translation, it benefits us pretty much zippo.
Add that the refiner (Valero) operates offshore so they pay no US taxes, there is no benefit from a tax perspective.
Who is on the hook when the thing leaks? You think the oil companies up there are going to pay for repairs and any environmental damage? Why would they?
Keystone is a joke..it would be like my neighbor paying to let me dump trash in his yard for free, what do we get out of it?
The supply does not stay here, the only jobs that will come is when the USG has to pay to clean up the leak..and almost all pipelines leak, especially those which the user has ZERO economic reasons for the upkeep.

Nebraska supreme court has ruled in favor of Keystone XL pipeline... Key victory here as all involved States have given legal approval now. Majority of Americans and Congress approve too. U.S. State department is likely to approve safest new pipeline in North America. With over a dozen existing pipelines between U.S. and Canada, more pipelines may be inevitable in the future.

It looks like Obama has no more excuses left to delay the Keystone pipeline..
Looks like Obama and his administration will have to approve the pipelene ..They announced back in April that they were delaying federal decision on the pipeline till after the Nebraska Supreme Court ruled. Well now that they have ruled ..the pipeline's proposed route through the state can go forward.

Wow.. You repulsicans are a very self-centered breed of people.
The Indians don't want the pipe line. Many property owns don't want it because just because of the ugliness, like the wind turbines. I dam sure wouldn't want it running across my acreage. You wouldn't either, unless of course you're being paid off.
But, if Obama doesn't think it's good for America, then of course you ignorant righties want the opposite, regardless of who it hurts.

pipeline...on to the Senate, where it is expected to be approved.
28 Democrats in the House joining the Republicans to pass this bipartisan legislation ...............

nah facts and reality goes over their head every time...
These same facts and reality that you mysteriously never seem to elaborate on. Thus, making you a fraud. You surely are no slouch when it comes to making cowardly generalized statements such as this. Can you ever go further and pinpoint which facts are going over their head?
The only 'Fact' you don't generalize is that you claim to be a non partisan independent. And we all know that to be more of a wish than a fact.
