Texas will also have its hottest pitcher on the hill in
left-hander Martin Perez, who is 7-2 with a 3.26 ERA over his last 10
starts. Overall, he was 10-5 with a 3.55 ERA.
Texas has traditionally given the left-hander problems,
as Price is just 1-4 with a 5.98 ERA in eight starts versus the Rangers.
It's been even worse in Arlington, where has totaled a 10.26 ERA in
four starts.

line seems more then correct to me. I mean your talking about a pitcher that is considered top 10 versus a guy that has 1.5 years of mlb experience. The Rangers have lost 3 of his last 4 starts. Line seems way more then fair.
Louis u r some garbage....if the line seems correct y haven't u post ur pick yet.. oh sorry he like to guess on 5 teams and win one or two cant pick a solid pick of the day.. i know dont what he gonna do know louis dont know how to pick a solid play...

Nelson Cruz factors in here? The guy strikes out all the time and hasn't seen major league pitching in eons. He'll do nothing positive for Texas tonight. Should be a good game. It's a pass for me.

Is he even going to play????
Then again...Nelson Cruz against David Price....
12 at bats.....6 hits...2 HR`s....2 walks.....4 RBI`s....500 AVG

Cruz just back from suspension I think may not be too effective. The other week I had Verlander versus Twinkies at -200. Thinking they needed to clinch the division title. Had a 3-0 lead and they lost in extra innings. Craps! Lucky I had Denver and over on a two team teaser and Broncos -10 at half and raiders + 16.5 for game on MNF. Real lucky. Then next day had Fister over Twins at -200 again and pulled it out in a squeaker.

Did he only play 1 game since being back??
You would think that they would give him some games to get the rust off if he was going to play in the post season.

Line has gone from Houston +212 to +204 at my book. Continue to drop and pretty soon I won't be surprised if this is a pick 'em. I'm assuming money is continuing to pour in on Houston, but at least the line is adjusting accordingly.

whoops, that should be +112 and +104. I usually use Decimal odds hence the mistake.

if it dont make sense then take the opposite team. I'm gonna wait and see how both pitchers are dealing and hope to get texas at +130ish. Nelson will be the X factor.

The line move points all the way to Texas - Open 124 Currently 102 (pinnacle). There is no alternative. Texas or nothing. I should have taken them last night. Still I have to do my game analysis yet.

got tex last night +125, reversing it today with rays -109. also rays tt o 3.5 -130. parlay rays -109/tot o 7 -140. texas looks strong on paper but i don't trust a rookie on the mound.

wow line has moved to a PK in my book...money pouring in on the Rangers has moved it in that direction. Texas is more of a public team than Tampa anyways, I dont know what the books were thinking.

I don`t understand....Because the Rays opened up at -134....They are currently -115 at pinnacle.
If he liked the Rays at 134 you have to love them at 115.
Then again, 19 cent drop
You have to look at the price you are getting a team for, implied probability of the odds vs your probability of a team winning. Baseball is too unstable (or pro sports for that matter), you cant just pick the "winner" every night, especially in a game like this...

In 8 starts vs the Rangers, Price has an ERA of 5.98, which is the 2nd worst of his entire career vs any team. David Prices ERA at the ballpark in Arlington? 10.86. That is his worst ERA in any ball park in the league.
To make matters worse, the Texas Rangers are the best batting team in all of baseball vs left handers with a .282 average, .353 OBP, and .447 SLG (1st in all 3 of those categories in the league).
Texas has a lot of good fastball hitters (esp now that Cruz is back) and that is Prices main pitch. The Rangers have all the momentum in this game while the Rays struggled to barely get 1 game out of that Jays squad. Also, Texas will be staying at home enjoying a good nights sleep, while the Rays have to travel from Toronto to Texas.
With regards to Perez, he may be young but has good all around stats and has pitched well when it has mattered for the Rangers this season.
Taking all of that into consideration, how could the Rays be -142 in this spot, which is what my book has right now...
Where do you get your stats? ESPN has Texas BAA against LHP at 267,OBP 338,SLG 416. I still like Texas

Your book opened -142/+132? Or was it some bogus -142/+112 early line? If it's the first then that is quite the big drop. Highest I saw was -130 though, never saw the -142.

Opened -142 late last night, moved to -130 early morning. Now its a PK...

Price gets a strikeout call on a pitch more than a feet off the plate vs Pierzynski....lets just hope it was an honest mistake by the very awful jeff kellogg, I ve seen this too many times, a team opens unreasonably as a favour and the umpires take care of them.

Rangers are ugly right now, however they have a chance to take this game STILL. overall, Over is the answer. plus, funny thing is tonight's UMP, Jeff Kellog. Martin Perez was crushed against Pirates when he was behind the plate, and D Price showed solid performance when he was behind the plate this season, only 1 game though. took Over for fun after checking this one, and i guess Martin Perez will allow 2 run or more AT LEAST, his pitched location is not good for this UMP. anyway this game is good to watch.
