If you're going to play nobody before your conference slate starts, and you've got a 65,000 seat stadium, at least make it a nobody from the region. I assume Albright would have brought 45+ people. Gettysburg would have flirted with 75. It's not like Penn needs the "W" to bolster it's bowl resume. Puzzling.

I'll bet they did play at some point. The Bullets played at a fairly high level way back when, and were on Delaware's schedule when I was a kid. I know they used to play Temple and Nova.

Ha ha -- I just did a little reading on the history of Gettysburg football. First game was at home against Dickinson in 1879.
Dickinson screwed up their calendar and showed up a week early. Gettysburg hurriedly put together a team and beat the visitors 11-6.
Recall it well. I had Dickinson +4.5. Tony wouldn't cancel the wager even though the game was played on the wrong day. Said "t'was a risk thou undertook fairly," whatever that meant. Got a lot of it back later, taking the under on number of Titanic Atlantic crossings in 1912.

ISU played, and lost, its Super Bowl last week in OT. Now they have to go play in front of ten people and a dog at Akron. Their skill guys should still be too much for the Zips, one would think.
