...i hear u dog...
Oregon- not a team u want to pass on every down, trust me, this team only has trouble with SEC teams...ark st- the new system is not just gonna click right away, they miss a lot of guys on that DEF...and if ur a team like ark st and u aint been to eugene before? UH OH!!!
i would gladly take -28

JDN - on another given week, I would agree with you. LSU was humiliated by Bama...slammed to the map, bitch slapped and ass raped...North Texas is a bad team who lost their most prolific RB in school history. Granted, the game is at noon and the rabid tiger faithful may not be up to fever pitch by then. this LSU team is pissed and the unfortunate victim is N Texas. Yes, Miles is an underachieving coach and a bit of an eccentric fruitcake. But, if Metterberger is as good as advertised, I think will come close to covering this lofty spread in the first half. I believe your wise advise will be useful in week 3 against Idaho, after LSU destroys and Washington. LSU will probably be favored by 45 over Idaho, and will win by 32...In essense, I agree with you on LSU's marginal track record for covering large spreads where the talent differential suggest that they should. This is LSU. But, on 1 September 2012, I think they will click and make themselves feel better at the expense of an overwelmed patsy, who's campus in located in a fertile LSU recruiting ground of the DFW Metroplex.
LSU - 41

With regard to USC, what is the relationship between Kifffin and Chow. Does Kiffin have a personal reason to win say 63-7. Or due to USC's lack of overall depth and in particular at the RB position, will he cut it off at say 45-0, leaving the possibility open for a back door cover in chump time. I am not afraid of Chow's innovation. This is talent v lack thereof. But, if Kiffin and Chow are still buddies, will he call the dogs off, or will he make this statement game that SC is back and Barkley deserves the Heisman??? Thanks in advance!

I have no idea whether LSU will or won't cover the hefty number against North Texas, but I agree that it is probably not (I say probably because I really haven't analysed the week 1 card yet) one of the better wagers in week one. I would like to think there will be better values out there.

you base your opinion on last year's team. this is a newi' team. thisis week 1 against a patsy. lsu will have a descent passing attack to compliment an outstanding running game supported by a shut down d. i'll take my chances...

as compared to what? this is week 1 after being humiliated by alabama...this isn't a sbc team after destroying a sec team by 30 that you were favored to beat by 12. in that case, of course a lack of effort and focus on scoring points...
everyone of those teams listed at the top of this string could have scenarios where they won't cover...it is all relative. if this spread comes out near 50, then no way. lsu will be up by 31+ by half time...watch and see...

Kiffin and Chow aint no buddies, chow has a known beef with USC. im sure they have coached on opp. sides before...chow is no threat as a coach here...
exactly what u said, statement game, Trojans are back, what u think is finna happen...there is nothing to fear here...the D-line for USC is deep the O-line for Hawaii is shallow...
only way hawaii scores is thru the air and the Trojan secondary is nice. they have bigtime safeties and fresh corners who played very well during spring...

agreed...but in week 1 top 5 home favorites against bottom 5 D1 dogs, where the favorite has motivation to impress (due to a underachieving 2011 or poor into the season; see LSU and UGA). Anything other than week 1, i agree 100%. the lines become inflated by the squares (Joe Q Public) and the coaches with the high rankings sub often, and take the dogs off hapless teams. In addition, coaches like Kiffin, Stoops, and Kelly at Oregon like to set the tone for the season. the 5 teams list above have shutdown D's and good offenses. I doubt all 5 will cover, probably 4 out of 5, but think all five are motivated to perform. For example in week 3, where LSU takes on Idaho, and the spread is 40+, I won't touch that game. But, it week one, the model is different. Good team with good O's and D against teams with equally bad O's and D, will cover...

LSU will be up by 35 by half time...of course with fruitcake miles, a BD cover is always possbile. do your reseach on N Texas v. LSU...I think LSU will win this game by 50...that goose egg shut out against Bama stung them hard...it disapointed the whole state of Louisiana....this is week 1 patsy , not a week 5 patsy tri-diectional La school sandwiched between two SEC powerhouses where the coaches and players go through the motivations, rest up, and beat a patsy where they are favored by 42 by say 32...
I am on LSU on anything less 45...

dude, u dont know what the line is...
why would it be 45?
last time they played LSU didnt even cover the 41, so why would it be higher?
lsu was shutout their last game, have a new QB....
they lost their best wr to the draft(he was the only wr to shake any kind of coverage).
so why 45?
last time i saw that # USC vs Idaho -46...
that usc team was way more loaded than this LSU team...

totally disagree, 1st halfs are no gimmes neither are teasers...
I make plays I know the risk involed, and im willing to take that risk...
very rare wk1 for a team to cover half time and not the full game, for wk1 only...
