UPDATE ON LEWIS JACKSON:
From everything I am hearing, he is cleared to play and a good possibility he may get some minutes tonight. He has had the protective boot off for a week or two now. He participated in full contact drills yesterday.
Wil he have a HUGE impact? I wouldn't think so. But his energy and speed could only help this Purdue team. The fans love Lew Jack, and even if he comes in for small minutes, you can be assured that we will be fired up. Take it for what it's worth.
I've been unpredicatably busy today so I'm still looking things over and have some more locked plays coming in a bit. I probably won't have time to do much write-ups.

Third locked play:
PURDUE 1H -5 (1 unit) - read my write-up, I had this coming. Like totals plays, I generally don't do first/second half plays but I really like this spot.

two more locked plays I was looking at late last night and early this morning:
UL MONROE +11 (1 unit)
GA TECH -5 (1 unit)
still looking into S. Alabama and Arizona St.

After 3 straight losses, Purdue has bounced back nicely, with a great road win at Illinois who always plays us tough and has been very difficult to beat them and then a smashing against Michigan in their last game (although it ended in a 10 point win, Purdue was up by 27 in the second half before getting sluggish to end the game – they immediately took control of the game after the first 5 minutes.)
This game is starting to get into a little rivalry for both teams – every time they play over the last 3 years at least one team has been very good, if not both. Since the Matt Painter era, Purdue has not lost at home to
They met earlier this year, and
Purdue is going to come out fired up to start this game. They realize how much it means to them as the Big Ten title is still up for grabs with 2 meetings against
With that said, JaJuan Johnson will be the key to this game. If he can get on a roll, then that will force Wisky to start double teaming him inside which will allow Hummel and E’Twuan some good looks on the perimeter. I’m switching gears and going with PURDUE -8 (-120) for a 3 unit play. I’m not going to go crazy on this game, but I really feel Purdue will control the pace to their favor from the start and win by 11-13 points.
As a side play, I also like the first half line for Purdue, whatever that # is (would be around -4.5). Wisky and Purdue have been on opposite ends in the first half of games lately. Wisky struggles and Purdue opening up. I’ll be taking Purdue 1H when that line comes out tomorrow morning.
As for the over/under (which is 126) I would play under, but I generally do not play totals so I’ll keep that away.
BOL to everyone. But I can see the line continue to climb just a tad into Thursday, so if you are thinking about taking Purdue, I’d lock it in now but if you like Wisconsin, I’d wait a bit.

HUGE INJURY NEWS ALERT, HUGE ALERT FOR THE PURDUE GAME
Ok guys, here's what I'm hearing out from Boiler Country this morning - info you probably wont find anywhere else.
Guard Lewis Jackson for Purdue, who broke his ankle in the first exhibition game, may very well play today in his first game this season. this is SIGNIFICANT news...he was on the All Big Ten Freshman squad last year and is a speedy PG with great passing ability. If what I'm hearing is true, you better hope you don't take Wisconsin bc he is a spark that Purdue could desperately use. He may not be totally effective in the game, but his energy and athleticism would easily help.
Yet if he doesn't play, I still like Purdue at -8...GL to whatever side you choose, this is only a rumor I'm hearing.

just back from the game...
one comment before i go and get hammered bc this is ridiculous.
read my write up and note that the key was JaJuan Johnson - didnt start for a reason i have NO idea, but when he came in with 16 min. to go in the first half, they got him the ball 3 STRAIGHT TIMES and guess what, scored a bucket every time. But Purdue was not looking for him at all after that. That's why they didnt cover for the biggest reason.
And just a thought, those refs were so fucking inconsistent in the second half - had about 8 fouls total in the first half then 15 total fouls in the first 10 min. of the 2nd half! i don't mind if you call a lot of fouls or not just be fucking consistent.
Haven't seen the other games except for the scores:
2-2 today with 2 pending
I can't figure out this Purdue team, I don't think I'll be betting on them for the next couple of games. BUT i'm telling you now Lewis Jackson will have a major difference for this team, it was good to see him back on the court...good thing it is cupcake city the next two weeks for purdue (vs. penn st and at IU) beore the showdown at Michigan St., so that will allow Jackson to get some minutes and find his place on the team.
ok time to get hammered and vent off my frustration, BOL the rest of the night fellas

Gotta love it when your team pulls off a well fought W and they don't cover the spread! There's nothing more frustrating for me when I get mad at my team after they win, but not by enough . Oh well, win some lose some. At least your mob pulled off the ranked win!
