Does Brad Stevens hire make Boston a good bet?

The facelift of the Boston Celtics continues as the team hired Butler's Brad Stevens as their new head coach, according to ESPN.

Stevens guided the Bulldogs to the NCAA Championship game in 2010, where they lost to the Duke Blue Devils, and 2011, losing to UConn.

But how did Brad Stevens fare in his six seasons as a head coach against the spread?

Butler was an ATS beast under the baby-faced head coach during the NCAA, posting a 12-4-1 ATS mark during his tenure.

Here is a look at the per season number Stevens has ATS (regular season and March Madness):

2012-13 season: 20-13-3
2011-12 season: 13-19-2
2010-11 season: 25-15-2
2009-10 season: 23-21
2008-09 season: 16-14-1
2007-08 season: 18-15-2

Total: 115-97-10 ATS

The Celtics finished with a 36-42-3 ATS record last season.
