Bruins prove to be the most profitable playoff bet
Due to some big victories as underdogs versus both the Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks, the Boston Bruins turned out to be the most profitable team in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Bruins finished the postseason up $557.87 if you had placed a $100 wager on the B's in each of their playoff games. The Blackhawks, the Stanley Cup champions, finished up $403.33 if any $100 bettor had wagered on the 'Hawks in each of their games.
On the flip side, the costliest bet turned out to be, of course, the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks were promptly swept out of the postseason by the San Jose Sharks and would have cost faithful $100 backers $400 if they had wagered on the Canucks.
As far as the total is concerned, the over/under count for the playoffs was 32-39-15.
The Los Angeles Kings led the way for games going under with a record of 4-12-2 and up $436.03 if a bettor had wagered $100 on the under in each of the Kings' playoff games.
The Ottawa Senators proved to be the best over bet with a record of 6-3-1. Any $100 bettor would be up $354.03 if they had wagered the over in each of the Sens' playoff games.
