Mobile betting becoming increasingly important to books, bettors
Digital and mobile devices are growing in popularity so fast for gamblers that executives in the Nevada gaming industry are preparing for the future in the medium, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Mobile phone apps are giving users a sportsbook wherever they go. William Hill US, owner of more than 100 sportsbooks in Nevada, and Cantor Gaming Group of Las Vegas are two companies that have created apps, seeing a future for bettors who don't want to wait in lines at the sportsbooks.
"It's all about making sports betting more convenient," said director of marketing for William Hill US, Dan Shapiro to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
"In fact, it's very similar to how I do my banking online or using a mobile app. The fact is, people are busier than ever today and they expect conveniences."
