Today's NHL Picks

Pick - Prop
Rangers in regulation (-104)

The Rangers were outplayed at 5-on-5 in Game 2, with the Capitals leading the way with a 54.9 CF% and 59.4 xGF% without winning. It reinforced the talent gap at the top of the two depth charts, and that New York is the superior team even when it isn’t at its best. I'm also expecting Blueshirts No. 1 Igor Shesterkin having a huge impact Friday. The Russian was elite down the stretch with a .929 save percentage and 2.20 GAA since the All-Star break, and he posted equally strong .930 and 2.42 marks across 27 postseason appearances the past two years.

Vancouver at Nashville u5.5 (+102)

The Vancouver Canucks are firing away, but barely any rubber is getting to Nashville Predators goalie Juuse Saros. It was a frustrating Game 2 loss, as the Canucks generated 84 shot attempts with only 18 as official shots on goal. Nashville blocked an absurd 31 shots. The Canucks are now averaging under 20 shots per game across the first two games of this series. Nashville is a third-period lapse away from being up 2-0 in this series, but it has also been fortunate. They put just 15 shots to Casey DeSmith, who made 12 saves in just his second career playoff start (not including the empty-net goal to clinch it), as the Demko injury news broke hours before Game 2. The Preds actually have the same number of shots as the Canucks through two games at 39.

Pick - Prop
Adrian Kempe anytime goal (+200)

The Kings forward has been all over the ice through two games in this series, scoring at least one goal in both contests while putting a team-leading 12 shots on net. Per Natural Stat Trick, Kempe also tops Los Angeles in individual expected goals at 5-on-5 (1.35) — nearly a goal more than his next-closest teammate — as well as scoring chances (9) and high-danger chances (6).
