1987 (Golf): At Muirfield in Gullane, Scotland - Nick Faldo shoots an even par 71 to win his first major championship at the Open Champioship by one storke over Paul Azinger and Rodger Davis. Faldo entered the tournament at +1700 to win the title as he became the first Englishman to win the Open Championship since Tony Jacklin in 1969.
2009 (Golf): At Turnberry in Ayrshire, Scotland - 125-1 longshot Stewart Cink defeats 59 year-old Tom Watson by 6 strokes in a 4-hole playoff to win his first major championship at the Open Championship. Watson had a chance to win his 6th Open Championship and become the oldest major champion in history but missed a 10-foot putt for par to win the title on the final hole of regulation.
2009 (MLB): Ian Kinsler becomes only the 5th man in MLB history to hit both a leadoff and walk-off home run in the same game as the Texas Rangers defeat the Minnesota Twins 5-3 in 12 innings. The Rangers were -115 home favorites.
