With Man City playing for a spot in the Champions League next season, you can be sure they'll give this game their full attention. As Emanuel Rosu explains, goals appear to be in the cards on Friday.

This clash between two in-form sides should see a lot of goals being scored at the Etihad on Friday evening.

City climbed the league ladder since the start of the year, after an awful series of results in November and December saw them slip outside the Champions League seats.

They are still chasing a top 3 finish, so they'll look to extend their current run of form. But Wolves are no pushovers. This should be a clash that even the neutrals will find attractive.

Here are my Manchester City vs. Wolves predictions and free betting picks for Friday, May 2.

Premier League predictions for Man City vs Wolves

Man City vs Wolves picks and predictions

My best bet: Over 3.5 goals (+130 at Betano)

My analysis
In each of the previous six games between Man City and Wolves, there have been at least three goals scored. City are back to winning ways, despite not being able to start Ballon d'Or winner Rodri and star striker Erling Haaland. The two are back to normal training, but will not feature in Pep Guardiola's side against a hungry Wolves side that will travel to Manchester aiming to harm their glamorous opponents.

It should be an open game, with plenty of action at both ends. Wolves have won six Premier League matches in a row, and that's no coincidence, as their game has been better and better. Their run included a 1-0 triumph at Old Trafford against City's arch-rivals, Manchester United, who now sit behind Wolves in the Premier League standings. The team aims to finish the season on a high, after being successfully evacuated from the relegation area thanks to some convincing displays being translated into points.

There have been at least three goals scored in three of Wolves' previous four matches. I'll take Betano's +130 return for over 3.5 goals in the City v Wolves confrontation. You could also consider the +125, which Betano pays for over 1.5 goals in the first half of the game. Friday night Premier League football promises to entertain, and we should take advantage.

Man City vs Wolves same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 3.5 goals

Over 10.5 corners

Omar Marmoush 2+ shots on goal

City has the fourth-highest number of corners in the Premier League this season. In the 34 games they played, they benefited from 225 corners. That's an average of 6.61 per match. Wolves' average stands at 3.5. Given that there will be plenty of attacking from both teams, this should lead to action near both goal lines, inviting corners.

With Haaland still unavailable, Marmoush will lead City's attack once more. The Egyptian scored four goals in five games between 15 March and 12 April, but stopped delivering abruptly. It's now three games in a row without him on the score sheet at City. Guardiola needs goals from Marmoush, but I'll stick to shots on target to play safer and round up a nice +580 return from Betano. Marmoush averages 1.3 shots on target per game since his move to City.
