The Minnesota Timberwolves beat up on the Utah Jazz on Friday night, and now the two will head to Utah to do it all over again on Monday.
We’ll explain in our Timberwolves vs Jazz predictions why Minnesota may not run up the score on Utah once again, and where the value is to be found in the total.

Timberwolves vs Jazz prediction
Timberwolves vs Jazz best bet: Under 234.5 (-110)
The season started with some promise for the Utah Jazz, but that quickly dissipated. The team’s lost five of their last six games, and their starting center in the process. While Walker Kessler and Georges Niang are facing lengthy absences, and forward Taylor Hendricks is questionable to play on Monday, the Jazz have at least been able to dust off the recently healed Isaiah Collier at guard.
The second-year man certainly won’t help Utah climb from the gutter in the defensive rankings this season, but he should be able to assist on offense with his playmaking ability. It’s a big should, and one of the only ways to find some hope in a team that has looked so flat in the last two games. The only other would be that Utah’s been one of the top shooting teams in the mid-range this season, particularly in the short mid-range, but even though it takes the most shots there, it’s still not a large enough chunk to make a huge difference.
Now, Minnesota and Utah do like to take a lot of 3-pointers, ranking in the top 10 of the league in shooting frequency, and this is going to create an interesting matchup. Utah’s actually ranked 15th against the 3, while Minnesota is 11th. Last time these teams met three days ago, the Timberwolves shot 47.2% from deep. I don’t necessarily expect that again, but I do expect the Jazz to continue shooting poorly and get out-played on the glass without Kessler, just as they did that night.
With that, I think there’s a golden opportunity here to take the Under. After a 137-point showing last time out between these two teams, I think there’s a bit too much inflation on the number. Minnesota’s offense is certainly good, and Utah’s defense isn’t great, but the Jazz should help bring these shooting numbers back to Earth as a decent side against the 3.
Timberwolves vs Jazz same-game parlay
One guy who’s been on a heater lately is Jaden McDaniels, who scored 22 points the last time these sides met over the weekend before posting 21 points on Sunday. The Jazz are one of the league’s worst teams in the short mid-range, and McDaniels takes the most shots there of any Minnesota player. Collier is also a target as he continues to work his way into the rotation; the Timberwolves have allowed the 11th-most assists per 100 possessions, and Collier, after picking up three in 26 minutes on Friday, should see some more run and a chance to add.

Our "from downtown" SGP: A smorgasbord of props
The Jazz are allowing the third-most blocks and fourth-most steals per 100 possessions, so it’s only right we give McDaniels another shout here. He managed three steals and two blocks last time these teams met and is averaging a combined three per game.
Kyle Filipowski grabbed 10 rebounds against Minnesota last game, and he’s now played 20 or more minutes in back-to-back games as he carves out a role following Kessler’s injury. Minnesota’s not a fantastic team on the glass, too, and Filipowski has already hit this number four times this season. You could go even higher if Hendricks is ruled out.
