KBO Picks

ESPN Game of the Day: LG Twins (23-13) vs Hanwha Eagles (9-28)

Probable Pitchers: Chan-gyu Lim (2-2, 5.24 ERA) vs Chad Bell (0-2, 8.80 ERA)

Well, the good feelings for the Hanwha Eagles didn't last long. After winning two games on Sunday, the Eagles returned to their losing ways, dropping their opener to the LG Twins 9-5 yesterday. That now makes it 19 losses in their last 21 games, all by two runs or more.

The Eagles are hoping they can avoid another losing streak with Chad Bell on the mound. The import starter was one of the Eagles best last year, but missed the first few weeks of the season with elbow soreness and hasn’t looked the same since returning. The right-hander has a massive 2.20 WHIP to go along with that ugly 8.80 ERA.

With the Twins starting the inconsistent Chan-gyu Lim, lets bank on the Twins bats to do their part against Bell and one of the worst bullpens in the KBO. Not only do they rank fourth in runs per game and average, but they're also super clutch, ranking first in the league in average with runners in scoring position.

Pick: LG Twins Team Total Over 5.5 (-120)

KT Wiz (14-22) vs SK Wyverns (12-24)

Probable Pitchers: Byung-wook Jo (0-0, 4.50 ERA) vs Tae-hoon Kim (1-3, 4.91 ERA)

The KT Wiz took the opener of this series in a back-and-forth thriller that ended 6-5 in 10 innings. The Wiz will try to win back-to-back games for the first time since May 28, but they could be in tough against SK Wyverns starter Tae-hoon Kim.

Don’t let the ERA near five fool you, Kim has been solid for the Wyverns in 2020. The lefty has spent most of his KBO career in the bullpen, but has taken his chance in the Wyverns rotation and run with it. The soft-tossing lefty creates a lot of weak contact and has been excellent at keeping runners off the base paths with a 1.27 WHIP.

The Wiz have a solid lineup but have struggled lately, plating just 3.7 runs per game over their last 10. On top of that, Byung-wook Jo is making his first career start, has just two KBO innings under his belt and then he'll hand the ball to the worst bullpen in the league.

Pick: SK Wyverns (-132)

Samsung Lions (18-19) vs Doosan Bears (21-15)

Probable Pitchers: Dae-wo Kim (1-2, 3.81 ERA) vs Chris Flexen (2-0, 2.92 ERA)

The Doosan Bears have lost three games in a row for the first time all season, so they hand the ball to ace Chris Flexen in hopes of stopping the skid when they take on the Samsung Lions in Game 2 of their three-game set.

The former Mets pitcher is enjoying his first year pitching in the KBO, sporting a 1.19 WHIP to go along with a 2.92 ERA. The Lions are an opportunistic bunch at the dish, but Flexen has proven capable against some of the KBO’s top lineups.

Samsung counters with Dae-woo Kim, who has found a groove since joining the rotation four starts ago. As a starter, Kim owns a respectable 3.79 ERA and 1.26 WHIP and that includes starts against the Dinos and this same Bears team.

Pick: First 5 Innings Under 5.5 (-124)

KBO Betting Record: 57-41-1, +12.22 units
