With the NBA and NHL back in full swing and college basketball heating up, sports betting action in the Empire State increased 4% week-over-week to wrap up February and kick off March.

Key Takeaways

  • New Yorkers wagered over $494 million to end the month.

  • Online operators produced about $2.2 million more revenue than the previous week.

  • FanDuel edged DraftKings in handle but ran away with the top revenue.

The New York Gaming Commission reported on Thursday that the eight online sportsbooks generated a $494.6-million handle during the week ending March 1, the highest amount wagered since the Super Bowl week. However, the same period in 2025 produced nearly $550 million in bets.

New York online sports betting operators in the most lucrative U.S. state claimed a win of $44.4 million during the week, a nearly 70% year-over-year increase and about $2.2 million more than the previous week.

The 9% hold marked the fifth time in six weeks that the win rate failed to reach double digits.

DraftKings’ 8.8% win rate was much closer to the state’s weekly average, and the sportsbook won $14.6 million, about 4% less than the previous period.

Big week for Fanatics

Fanatics closed out February with its highest handle since September, reaching $59.8 million. The online operator won back 7.5% to finish with $4.5 million in gross revenue. BetMGM posted a less-than-desirable 4.2% hold on a $44.5-million handle, while Caesars just got above a 7% win rate on $30.9 million in wagers.

theScore Bet went over $1 million in weekly gross revenue for the first time since mid-January thanks to a rare double-digit hold. BetRivers won back 7.5% on a $12.8-million handle, while Bally Bet just cleared $209,000 on $3.1 million in wagers.
