Tens of thousands of Missourians immediately joined safe, regulated platforms the moment they became legal. It’s a powerful reminder of how quickly consumers embrace a well-regulated market when the option finally exists.”

Big first day
Missouri online sports betting operators FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, bet365, theScore Bet, Fanatics Sportsbook, and Circa Sports all launched at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, making Missouri the 39th U.S. state to operate legal sportsbooks.
Retail sports betting also opened on Monday at several in-state casinos.
The first 24 hours of legal sports betting in Missouri included the Monday Night Football game between the New York Giants and New England Patriots, wrapping up Week 13 in the NFL, which is king in U.S. wagering. The St. Louis Blues of the NHL saw some of the first action from Show-Me State bettors.

Based on maps and geolocation checks provided by GeoComply, much of the tracking expectedly occurred in the populous cities of St. Louis and Kansas City, yet there were hits in every region of the state. There were also non-compliant geolocation checks close to the borders with Illinois and Kansas, two other legal sports betting jurisdictions.
GeoComply plans to release more analysis on Missouri’s foray into sports betting after the first week, which will include data from the Kansas City Chiefs’ first game since the launch in Sunday primetime.
The company provides geofencing and compliance to a majority of Missouri’s sports betting operators, and their data does not represent the entire market.
