DraftKings to Open Retail Sportsbook at Golden Nugget Biloxi

DraftKings plans to open a new and expansive sportsbook at the Golden Nugget in Biloxi, Mississippi in January 2024.

A major sports betting operator is solidifying a retail wagering presence in Mississippi.

DraftKings has announced a deal with Golden Nugget Casino Biloxi to open a featured brick-and-mortar sportsbook at the entertainment destination located on the Gulf of Mexico. DraftKings plans to open a new and expansive sportsbook at the Golden Nugget in January 2024.

The sportsbook, which bolsters DraftKings’ existing presence at the casino, will provide guests with the ability to place wagers on same-game parlays, player props, and live betting. 

“Together with the leadership team at DraftKings, we are creating an amenity that patrons can enjoy while offering sports fans an unparalleled sports betting experience at one of the top entertainment destinations in Mississippi,” said Golden Nugget Biloxi general manager Chett Harrison.

The new DraftKings Sportsbook at the Golden Nugget will feature three video walls and a VIP viewing area. The facility will also include 17 live betting kiosks and five betting windows. Mississippi sports betting guests at the Golden Nugget can still place wagers at the casino through Michael Patrick’s Sports Bar & Grill Sportsbook and betting kiosks while the new sportsbook is being constructed.

Stable business

DraftKings is expanding its retail presence in America following favorable third-quarter results.

The Boston-based company posted $790 million in revenue in Q3 2023 — a 57% increase year-over-year. DraftKings reported 33% of total receipts in markets in which it operates, making it the No. 1 sports betting and iGaming operator in the U.S. for gross gaming revenue in Q3.

DraftKings raised its full-year revenue guidance amid its growth in Q3 2023. The company expects revenue to range between $3.67 billion and $3.72 billion in FY2023 compared to a previous projection of between $3.46 billion and $3.54 billion. DraftKings estimates a loss on an adjusted EBITDA basis of between $95 million and $115 million in 2023. It previously projected a loss on an adjusted EBITDA basis of between $190 million and $220 million for the fiscal year.

As of Dec. 1, DraftKings operates in more than 20 states, including New York and Pennsylvania.
