With a price tag of -10,000, Cooper Flagg is a virtual lock to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, according to the latest NBA Draft odds. High odds of near certainty also make the Duke star the most-bet player by handle at BetMGM.

Key Takeaways

  • Duke’s star is getting massive amounts of handle to go No. 1 overall at several sportsbooks
  • Bettors could be hedging bets with Dylan Harper going No. 1 just in case
  • Ace Bailey is a popular bet across several markets at BetMGM

The Duke star is getting 93.8% of the money and 23.3% of the wagers at the online sportsbook. In a draft where the Dallas Mavericks currently hold the top pick, DraftKings has seen 71% of the handle and 41% of the bets come in on Flagg in the first overall market. ESPN BET is reporting 99% of the handle and 33.3% of the tickets are on Flagg.

At bet365, Flagg carries -50,000 odds to be the No. 1 pick.

"With his price of -50,000, he’s amongst those who have been the shortest prices in NBA history to be chosen with the first pick in the draft,” said bet365 trading leader Aron Wattleworth.

It appears, though, that some bettors might be hedging their bets or taking a chance on chaos. With odds of +10,000, Dylan Harper is getting the most tickets (47.3%) of any player at BetMGM, and he’s the biggest liability in the first overall market.

However, just 4.2% of the handle is on Harper. At ESPN BET, it’s less than 1% of the money on Harper, despite him getting 33.1% of the tickets. DraftKings reported that 17% of the money and 19% of the handle is on Harper in the No. 1 draft pick market.

Meanwhile, BetMGM has seen Flagg receive 48.6% of the tickets and 47% of the bets to go No. 2 in the NBA draft, making him the biggest liability in that market.

After Flagg

ESPN BET said that the No. 2 overall pick, which belongs to the San Antonio Spurs, is the most-bet draft market by handle. Bettors are just as in love with Harper there as Flagg at No. 1 with 96.6% of the money coming in on the Rutgers star. He also leads in tickets with 21.1% of the bets, slightly ahead of Ace Bailey, who’s getting 21% of the wagers but less than 1% of the handle.

DraftKings reported that 76% of the handle is on Harper, with no other player in double digits.

“Harper is the next shortest price fav for X Overall Pick, as the current -5,000 market leader, to be chosen No. 2,” said bet365's Wattleworth. “Action is again seeing a lot of parlays with Flagg No. 1 and other short-priced options with approximately 76% of all tickets. However, there is interest in VJ Edgecombe as well 11%, with his +3,300 price now laying +2,500.”

The betting market for No. 3 overall, owned by the Philadelphia 76ers, is the most bet market by tickets at ESPN BET, where six players are getting at least 7.1% of the wagers. The competitive market has Derik Queen leading with 25.9% of the bets and 28.8% of the handle, while VJ Edgecombe has seen 27.8% of the money and 13.4% of the bets.

Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach, and Tre Johnson are each getting at least 8% of the handle at ESPN BET. BetMGM reported that the favorite Edgecombe (-275) to go third overall is getting a leading 43.3% of the handle, while Bailey has seen 28.1% of the tickets.

Other draft markets

At BetMGM, Bailey is a popular pick to go in the second, third, or sixth round, making up three of the top five most-bet players by handle. Knueppel, Flagg’s teammate at Duke, is the favorite to go fourth at +150 and is the market’s biggest liability with 31.7% of the bets and 47.9% of the handle. That pick belongs to the Charlotte Hornets.

BetMGM has Johnson as the favorite to go fifth at +185, but Bailey is the biggest liability with 31.4% of the tickets and 45.5% of the bets with a pick owned by the Utah Jazz. Bailey is also a popular pick to go sixth, which belongs to the Washington Wizards. As the +220 favorite, he’s getting 33.3% of the bets and 56.4% of the money.

Jase Richardson’s draft position has seen the most bets and money wagered among ESPN BET’s individual player markets. Bettors on the PENN Entertainment platform are heavily backing the Michigan State guard to go over 19.5 draft spots with odds of -220. Over 96% of the handle and 88% of the bets have come in on that play.

For a third Duke draftee, Maluach’s under 8.5 picks is the second-most bet over/under market, with 100% of the handle and 100% of the tickets. At bet365, 84% of the action is backing the under on Maluach's draft position. As a result, his odds have moved from -140 to -250.
