Sports-betting exchange Sporttrade is clear to launch in Colorado.

The Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission approved Sporttrade for a "First Temporary Sports Betting Internet Operator license" on Thursday, which will allow the company to offer its brand of legal sports betting in the mountainous state.

Sporttrade’s approval to offer Colorado sports betting means it is now licensed in two states, Colorado and New Jersey.

While those two states are relatively crowded with other operators, Sporttrade’s unique brand of wagering could help it stand out from the crowd in its two markets.

Launch date TBD, but coming soon

“Built just like a financial exchange, our platform allows customers to trade on sports outcomes by buying and selling contracts, just like trading stocks,” the Philadelphia-based company notes on its website

A spokesperson for Sporttrade said in an email that the company will have an announcement “soon” regarding its launch date in Colorado.

Sporttrade continues to eye expansion into additional states as well, including Indiana and Louisiana.
