Copa Del Rey Osasuna NTL -123 1 unit Santander is the stronger team, but they have 1 win and 3 draws in copa play. Osasuna has 2 wins and a draw in their last 3 matches overall. Pretty much just hoping for a draw here, though the price for a draw is much better at +230. Lean under 2.5 -119 as well, but would not play the under at 2.
Celta Vigo +1.5 -123 1 unit Celta Vigo has 3 draws and a win in Copa Del Rey action while Atl Madrid has 1 win, 2 draws and a loss in Cup play. Hoping for Celta Vigo to keep it within a goal based on only 1 loss in their last 10 matches.
Keep in mind my La Liga record is abysmal so far this year, and last week's attempt to take the dogs back fired in my face.
Lean under 2, 2.5 -120 in the Gabon match...no play yet. I dont like betting cup games and want to see what the forum likes in these match ups.

Benzwebtoday im just throwing darts at the wall and going with some value bets. The bad part is that both my wagers are juiced, so if I only hit 1 of them, im down a bit for the day. the up side is that I have put myself in the position to win in 2 out of three scenarios in each game (draw, or dog win).
dinamoI appreciate your perspective because it makes alot of sense. Quite frankly I suck in cup games, and suck almost as bad in Spanish La Liga games. Athletico could win easily, but i think Celta Vigo will give them a better showing than Huelva did last week.
Atl looks to be in better form since January 9th, but in Copa action, they tied Sevilla twice 0-0, lost to Huelva 3-0 and beat Huelva 5-1.
Celta Vigo tied Santander twice 0-0, beat Villareal 1-0 away and tied Villareal 1-1 at home. Celta Vigo's league play in LIGA Adelante is not that good (5 wins 8 draws 7 losses) which leads me to believe they have been going all out in Copa matches against the big boys. Will it last?
Atl Madrid visits Getafe on saturday and could very well be an underdog in that match. Where is the coach's priorities (league or cup) is the million dollar question of the day.
In addition, Santander visits Gijon on saturday where they also may be dogs.

Re Atletico Madrid . . . I've literally been thinking about that match throughout the night. . . as we all saw, AM came out with guns a blazing in their last copa match . . . at home. That effort seemed to me to have been clearly inspired by all the flak that the coach caught from his critics and fans . . . he seemed to respond by fielding his strongest XI to prove a point that his team would not lose at home (especially to a second tier team) and would score the necessary goals to advance on the differential. He didn't want to get another unfavorable result, especially against second tier Huelva.
I guess my thoughts are (1) AM seems to be coming into a good form; (2) AM's poor previous showings in the copa appear to be due, at least in substantial part, due to a "too laid back" approach to copa and when they finally focused (at home) last out, the coach "unleashed the dragon" and let the team show their true potential against the second tier visitor; (3) it would not look good to lose to another second tier team, especially at home, when all else seems to be going well; and (4) if AM takes it convincingly at home today, they can afford to play more defensively next week at Vigo.
You hit the nail on the head - how will AM's coach perceive this game? Obviously, when he was being severely criticized, he seemed to respond aggressively by playing his strong players. . . does he feel like he's done enough in that regard such that he can fend off other critics should he lose to Vigo today? I am leaning that AM wins by two or more - but I will wait to see info on starting lineups (ie. Is Forlan playing) . . . but then again, maybe I'm just drinking the AM koolaid. . . you make a good point regarding the League match this weekend maybe having an impact today.

disbarredgreat feedback and good points. Huelva put up a fight for awhile, but then laid down with a bunch of yellows in the 2nd H. If AM wins by 2 or more, it will not be a surprise. But I wont pay big juice for AM money line. Good luck today!
billyi took my yatch to work again today...too much rain all at once.... good luck today !!!!!

I don't know, bake. Going against Atlético Madrid at home with Aguero back and in form, and Forlan as well starting to fire up hitting them goals? And Simao with his dangerous foot at free kicks. You got balls! I give you that.
Celta will surely put up a fight, though, especially in their next game in the cup at home. But Atlético is a team with a lot of offensive power, it all depends on how orientated and focused this Celta team will be. It sure is a big game for them and that is a big plus for you, but I think you will be sweating this one out. I hope you win it, though. Not sure if I will play this game or not, will have to look into it a little more.

HCgood to see ya. DO NOT TAIL MY SPANISH PICKS These guys that are singing madrid's praises are speaking the truth. In this matchup, Im not paying the high ML for AM, and dont feel like praying for a 2 goal win against a team (albeit 2nd Tier) who has only lost 1 in the last 10)
If people think ATL Madrid will glide to victory, might as well take the over in case its a 2-1 type of game.
Beestgreat points as well. I know I am definitely in the minority on this card. Im risking 2.5 units today which I view as entertainment value. And I wont be sweating it out as I probably wont be able to follow it today at work.
Celta Vigo may not score so Im hoping for a 1-0 Atl win.

erri've seen you in Lipps thread every weekend....welcome bro.
2, 2.5 is a split bet. You risk half your bet on O/U 2 and half on O/U 2.5.
It is a way to reduce your juice.
If under 2.5 is -150, you can opt for under 2, 2.5 at even money (for example) or just take the under 2 at +115 for example.
So if you have under 2, 2.5 at +100, and your game ends 1-1, you push half your bet and win half your bet. If it ends 2-1 or more, you lose both. if it ends 1-0 you win both. 5 Dimes often offers this option.

In the Gabon match, the under 2.5 is around -165 or so...much more than I'd like to pay in a Tournament match. It could end 1-0 or 2-2. So I'd go for under 2, 2.5 with less juice or take the over 2.5 at plus money if you think it will go over.

Awesome man thanks for clarifying that up. BOL today
It looks strange the first time you see it, I remember it myself when I first started betting soccer a couple of years ago. The funny thing is, I am seeing it on Pinny for hockey totals now and have even played a few U5/U5.5s to reduce juice on a game I think will be 5 or under at most... you will soon get used to it but it does call for a little more mental math.
