I've played with these guys more than a couple of times. I agree that the strategy would change if you had to use both of your hole cards, but we've never played that way before. It was just a dispute about me having one diamond and him having two. It was a really weird argument, and I could not convince them otherwise.

The people I was playing with are mostly home and online players. Two of them swear this same thing has happened to them on online games, and the computer awarded the player with the suited hole cards. I am a rookie, and am trying to figure this one out. It does not make any sense to me, and I can not find a rule like that anywhere in hold em. I think I will stop playing with them!

We had an argument at a home game the other night, wonder if someone could answer it for me. I was dealt Ad Ah the other player had Kd 3d, the flop Qd 5d 8s, the turn 10d, river 6d. Four card flush right. I had the Ad, went all in. Other player called. The pot went to him because he held two diamonds in his hand as opposed to my one? Everyone said this was a rule, sound a little fishy to me! Apparently party poker plays this rule too. Any comments?
