Southern Mississippi -5.5 BYU is playing amazing, but thats at home, on the road, they are horrid. Southern Miss is bigger, stronger, more athlethic... Western Michigan +4.5 (1 units) Webster State -9 Met last month were webster beat oru in tulsa by 4. This is at home and Webster is significantly playing better. |

These teams both have long spurts, I would still probably bet the under.

The last 3 times Boise played Idaho, they have beat them by 35 or greater. As this season is winding down, Chris Peterson now knows he needs style points to have any chance to get into the bcs national championships, there is a great chance both oregon and auburn might drop down. Idaho got a can of whoop ass by nevada last week and hawaii the week before..Guess what Boise did to Hawaiii last week, the same faith awaits Idaho, plus it will be like a home game without the blue turf. I see a win of over 35+, go with Boise on this one.

People are going to over think this game, but the clear fact is Texas was a horrid/inconsistent team this year. They were complete garbage against a bad KState team, OSU will make a circus show out of Texas next week in Austin... Vegas put this line so low because people will think in their heads that this is an upset game for a talented Texas team. Texas still needs to mature and get coached for that to happen against a very dynamic osu team that is trying to sneak into a bowl game. Putting these two teams side by side, texas is raw meat next week.

Don't be fooled that Stanford is such a small favorite against an ASU 4-5 team. This ASU team is an excellent team and people forget this season, Oregon's closest margin of victory came against them, which was 11.
They almost beat the Badgers with their speed in Madison which is unheard of for a very long time, lost by 1. I think they barely lost to Oregon State due to exhaustion after 3 rough losses and that was only a 2 point loss.Their only blow out loss was against California which at home seems to dominate (beware the following weeks when they play Stanford and Oregon back to back). However, the play from analyzing this further should be Stanford at -5.ASU has multiple (4) key defensive players bruised up for Saturday and Stanford only has one tight end. Even though ASU has incentive to play hard as they still have a chance to make a bowl game, Stanford has a higher incentive to make it into a bcs bowl following oregon in the pac-10, week in and week out, top teams are getting knocked out but Stanford has stern discipline under harbaugh. Stanford last week beat a great Arizona team by double digits and even though they played close against USC (who hasn't in the pac 10?) and Washington State (beat them only by 10), who was blown out a week later in the season by ASU, they have been very consistent in a wild west pac-10. ASU might have possibly blown out WSU due to the rough play of Stanford the week before. But this is my biggest factor of choosing Stanford at -5, ASU has 4 defensive players in question for this Saturday against a prolific Standford offensive, and if thats the case, I don't think they hold a chance. I see a 14-17 point win in sun devil stadium after all of ASU's injuries and how both teams performed last week carrying it over to this week. I think Stanford will be very well prepared as they know ASU is a tricky opponent but very similar to their interstate rivals Arizona, and I believe they will cover the 5 point spread. I need some opinions on this game, thank you. If anyone disagrees, please speak out as I want contrasting views. Thank you |

Hey fellow cappers,
I need some insight into this game BYU v. Colorado State. My gut feeling is pound BYU -6.5 based on the smashing they gave UNLV. Both their offense and defense look like it shaped up even if it was against one of the worst teams in the country, UNLV. The stat that is jumping out is BYU is coming off back-to-back wins for the first time this season as it travels to face Colorado State on Saturday. They had a pretty horrid season compared to their standards. Another stat that jumps out is BYU has won the last six contests against the Rams since consecutive CSU wins in 2003 and they are getting the fire started.I just feel like they warmed up at the perfect time and even though Colorado State played SD State tough, I think that leaves a mental hangover. I need counter or supporting opinions on this, thanks... |

I honestly don't think the NCAA will do anything severe, there were many more student offenses committed in other schools than overpracticing in the field, people are making a bigger deal out of this than it actually is. How do you prove a practice was voluntary over unvoluntary? RR looks like a dick, but he is probably going to bring winning years and pride in wolverine football within next 2 years. Watch the first game, and let time decide what is going to happen before this one silly espn article.

Don't let the situation in Michigan come into effect when capping this game, it's going to be a very bad mistake if you do. Whatever anyone says about the Michigan team, they still have competive players who want to give a name to themselves and enter the NFL. The highly recruited players play for themselves in the end of the day and when the season opener against Western Michigan comes into effect, I know they will play to par to their potentials. I am repeatedly saying that Michigan at -11 is great value play, all this drama with RR is just nonsense. Western Michigan lost too many starters to be any good, take my word for it, Michigan will be very dominate still against Western Michigan.

Also to mention, Iowa is bring back 8 starters on offense, 6 starters on defense, and 2 starters on special teams. However, northern iowa is bring back 9 on offense, and 5 on defense. Want to pull the trigger on iowa, think they will blow northern iowa out but not sure.

Dear Fellow cappers,
This was another line on 5dimes, Iowa was favored to Northern Iowa by 25 pts. It's in Iowa City and even though, this is a semi rivalry game, the athletes on Iowa are way superior than Northern Iowa. However, fcb ranks Northern Iowa the #4 team in division 1aa football. Any input on this game would be nice. Do people believe northern iowa can cover? Thank you again fellow cappers. |

I must admit with westcoastTrojan, Barkley for a true freshman, has amazing fundamentals that I have not seen with recent #1 qb recruits including terrrel pryor, the highly touted Jimmy Clausen, mustain and stafford, even way back to Vince Young. Though some of these qbs are dual threat while one can easily characterize Barkley as a pocket passer, his talent and fundamental level as a true freshman is just unbelievable, he is better than Mustain and Corp, no doubt. For one thing, barkley is that good and his funadamentals are sound, some things you can't teach that you see in him while watching film over and over. I think he has the potential to be great, don't know if he is mentally sound yet though.

Troy -6.5 Minnesota -6.5Texas A&M -14 UAB -6 Illinois -6.5 (would buy .5 hook) Stanford -17 Eastern Michigan -5 Oklahoma -20.5 (I would buy the one point hook) You know you only have a 1 in 256 chance of hitting an 8 team parlay but good luck.

I thought of Texas on board, and see Wyoming having no chance in that game whatsoever. I think the new ball coach will focus on the games he can win, thus Weber State prep>Texas anymore views would be nice.

This is one of those lines posted on 5dimes, but I don't know which way to go, I have it at Wyoming -5. Wyoming brings backs a whopping 18 starters from a disappointing team that went 4-8 last season, but had some upsides like beating a sec team like Tennesse. On the other side of the coin, Weber state is the #9 team in the fbs or otherwise known as division 1aa. The oc of Missouri was a brilliant man and now the new coach at wyoming, and given the time, I believe Wyoming may be a challenger in the mwc. But even though wyoming at -5 looks tempting, I really don't know about this year. What is the fellows cappers output on this? So far the reports from scrimmages look promising for Wyoming.

Before we go into this nonsense that Western Michigan will win the game, that no one should touch Michigan -11 with a 10 feet pole, fellow posters should seriously do their research before posting here and giving bad information. First let us look at strictly returning starters and recruitment, Western Michigan brings back 7 in their offensive line, while only 3 on their defensive line. They bring back 2 starters also on special teams. While Michigan brings back 10 returning starters in their offensive core, 5 returning returners on their defense, and 1 returning starter in their special teams. Let us not also forget, the superior recruitment Michigan does each year, out of 22 recruits they had this year, all 21 were within the top 80 of their denoted positions with most being in the top 20, in top of that bring 7 top 150 espn recruits into their program and the #14 qb in the country with forcier.Western Michigan's has only one recruit in the top 30 of his denoted position, recruting wise, Michigan kills Western Michigan. Returning starters, Michigan beats Western Michigan. Now let us specifically look at the Western Michigan team and the offense many people are raving about: "The Broncos relied heavily on the pass last season, and with Tim Hiller back for his senior campaign Western Michigan will likely air the ball out once again. Hiller, who set a WMU single-season record with 3,725 yards, finished with an impressive 36 touchdowns. Duplicating those number may prove difficult however, as his top two targets from a year ago are gone." What can a team do with a great qb, but no receivers to throw the ball.
Now lets look at the defense: "The Broncos were not overpowering on defense last season, but they did a solid job for the most part. However, 2009 could be a work in progress as the unit returns only three starters." A crappy defense from last year will be even more crappier this year. Good job you Western Michigan backers. Let us what Rich Rodriguez has said in the press conferences this year:He has been saying that this year's team in more oriented with the spread offense system and been getting more plays in practice than last year's. Already a sign that this year's team is better than last year's dismal 3-9 performace. Players are understanding his system much better. Lets also look at what both teams did in the beginning of the season, Michigan lost to the great Utah team by only 2 points, a team that ended up being #2 in the AP poll in the country in the end of the year and then started going down hill. Western Michigan lost in their first game against a descent Nebraska team by 23 points, then went 9-4 in the mac. Their final two losses came to a overrated ball state team who got killed in their bowl game against tulsa and an overated Rice team with both losses having a margin of 23 points. Western Michigan fell apart in the end and Michigan just had an awful season altogether. Lets foward to 2009, Rich Rodriguez is under a lot of pressure to be successful this year in Ann Arbor, why Michigan brought him from West Virginia, to pay him the big bucks to be successful, not to the Lloyd Carr again. In my opinion, he will kill this Western Michigan team in the first came, I think Michigan will win anywhere between 3 to 4 touchdowns and this may be an understatement. It is the year to fade Western Michigan because they are overhyped coming off last season. A simple and easy pick, Michigan -11. Resources for info: Espn and Seattle Times newspaper
