Me personally I almost never lay -180 for a +1.5 try to find a book that has 1's and take dogs +1 if your playing the puckline. Never lay crazy juice on favs either its bankroll suicide take them -1. Those are a few tidbits that pop to mind I'm sure other posters will offer their own opinions Gl to you!! O and really try to resist the temptation to chase on bad days. Easier said than done Thank you very much for the insight. The place where I bet offers the -1, I tend to stick with that line, or the team to just win in regulation. I am going to have to start exploring underdogs where the matchups call for it. |

Always wanted a better understading on this. In the past, I would bet varied amounts of teams I liked strongly, as well as teams I liked but not as strongly. I would rank teams on a scale from 1-5, 5 being teams i liked strongly. I know bankroll is one of the major factors that come into play here as well. Since I'm just getting back into sportsbetting, let's say my starting bankroll is $500. Any advice or links to articles internal or external would be greatly appreciated. I want discipline when it comes to my bets, different approach this time. One more thing I know the sports you bet on may determine this as well, since I bet with the pointspread in all of football and basketball. Baseball I usually take Run Line, when betting favorites to bring the ML down, just so you're not losing as much if the team gets upset. NHL I am betting the team to win in regulation, rather than for the game including OT or the puckline. Sometimes I'll bet the puck line. I'm thinking with banroll of 500, maybe bet 100 on games I like alot and are 5's and than bring it down according to the scale, and only playing teams that fall in the scale range from 3-5, actually than the scale could just be a 3 star scale to make it easier. Any advice on getting this concept down, because this is key in sportsbetting. Thank you! |

Thank you gentlemen for helping me out. For whatever reason, dating back from when I posted this, up until like Tuesday I was unable to respond or create any threads. The system wouldnt let me, thankfully now its fixed, was told that there was a bug in system when contacted support. Put me behind in being able to interact and help each other. Going to add some of you as friends on here to follow.
Thanks again gentlemen and best of luck this weekend!! Didn't look at any of the b-ball games for later tonight, however, I know its a different sport, different forum, but I like Pittsburgh Penguins in hockey tonight. I like them alot, having lost 4 or 5 in a row, even to some lowly teams such as LA 2 nights ago. I watched last game, being from Pittsburgh and liking hockey as well, I liked the effort I saw put forth by this team last game. I look for them to snap out of this losing streak tonight on road at Anaheim. In goal, Matt Murray has been playing alot better as of late, while Gibson has been doing alright. Pittsburgh is modestly valued at -180, I like them to win in regulation, brining the line down to -117, or even at -1 for the game including OT.
Another play I like, but not as much, is Vegas at home against Buffalo. The goaltending matchups haven't been announced yet for this game, although I believe Fleury will be in net, unless they start their newly acquired goalie from Chicaogo, who isn't doing that good this year. Keep an eye on this game, and put a medium play on Vegas if Fleury gets the start.
One thing, I would request help with fellas is the topic of bankroll and betting units. This, along with betting the same team on a parlay that I really like and having that one time be only team that loses, are the 2 things I've had issues with in past. I would bet varied amounts on teams I liked a lot and say would rate on scale of how much I like from 1-5, a 5, as well as different amounts on games I like, but just not as much, say a 1-3. Can someone advise me on developing a betting system to become more disciplined, with the units. Maybe on scale 1-5, depending on bankroll. Keep in mind, in betting NHL you're mostly dealing with another element, just monelyine odds, I would take the puckline, like I do runline in baseball, but its not uncommon to see some 1 goal outcomes. I'd much rather deal with betting in hockey in terms of monelyine for game, including OT, or moneyline regulation. Advice is welcome. I will create a separate forum within College basketball forum for betting strategies including units for those to chime in on who may not see this. But feel free to respond if you dont mind. As always, thank you fellas!

Straightbets his week has been silly. I bet the same amount on every pick and I am up quite a bit. I do not get greedy. |

Thank you to the gentleman that suggested I follow you. I took Oakland -3 to close out my parlay, was a little scary there throughout, but thanks to 2 OT's they came through and covered. Thanks for the pick. |

Honestly, I'd say save your money and apply yourself to get a new job. A better job. Believe in yourself. BUT if you feel like you have to gamble.......a few things: -The less wagers the BETTER. -Don't ever believe something is a sure thing. It isn't. -Follow KingScorpio on this forum. Thank you for the advice fellas about parlays, although I lost on Penn State and Indiana, I didnt tie them into everything, and because of that I still have some cash for rest of day. Thankfully won on Minnesota and Creighton looked good. I liked St. Peters but pulled them from a straight bet and lost them on parlay with Penn State. Hopefully Stanford can win and cover the spread tonight. |

I agree fellas, I hadn't been betting long. had account up to 900, from a $150 deposit. I'm not down thankfully on the year. The reason why Im down the money is the cost for the attorney for 2 court hearings, originial and then the appeal, put me back $3000. I'm trying to get it back up to help make a payment. I agree relying on gambling for income isnt the way, but just this week I kind of need to, unfortunately. Thanks for all of the advice. After this week I will just pick a few I like and just bet straight up, and maybe occasional 2-3 team parlay. Thank you. |

Been a member for quite some time. Most will experience difficult times at some point in there lives. I am experiencing some of that now. Will be laid off from work with my last paycheck coming in on Friday was working for friend, didnt qualify for unemployment unfortunately. Lost license for speeding, behind on mortgage by several months and absolutly need to win 1000 by Friday , as I owe 1900. I have 400 now and will have 600 come Friday. I am down alot this week. Not asking for opinions or people to talk down to me, but would someone be sincere enough to either refer me to who is the best when it comes to handicapping NCAAB here so I can follow them for some picks for tomorrow and the next few days, and/or offer me some picks for tomorrow that they feel very comfortable with and a little write-up as to why. I would be more than grateful for anyone that takes the time out to respond.
I'm leaning towards the following games: Temple vs Eastern Carolina; Temple. Temple has exchanged wins by small margins with losses as of late. Their last convincing win was against Eastern Carolina 2 weeks ago, where they beat them by 12. Eastern Carolina hasnt won consistently for a while but has been covering. Temple -2.5
Penn State vs Indiana. Penn State. Penn State had gone a month without a loss up until their last game at home against Illinois, where they lost by 6. Penn state defeated Indiana in January by 15. Besides defeating Iowa and Minnesota recently, Indiana has been beat often and by large margins by teams Penn State didn't have any issues with. Although I am well, and I mean well aware of you can't base your analysis soley on previous times team faced each other or common opponents, I still think Penn State wins this one. Another motivating factor is them coming off a home loss to Illinois to break up their month of consistency and really not wanting to lost 2 in a row to an unranked opponent. Penn State +1, but move line for value and take Penn State -4
Indiana State vs Evansville. Indiana State just came up with a nice win against Northern Iowa, other than that, they had a 4 game slide before that, but before that, they were riding a 4 game winning streak with some nice double digit victories. Evansville hasnt been playing good lately, and have lost 10 in a row. The 2 teams played each other a month ago with Indiana State winning by 23. Like Indian State -3.5
Minnesota vs. Northwestern. Northwestern is coming off 3 losses in a row, but before that although inconsistant, alternating wins, with losses, had some big wins against good schools. Northwestern hasnt won a game in their last 10 games. Previous meeting this year, Minnesotat won by 9 points. Like Minnesota -3
Creighton vs Butler. Creighton. Creighton has been hot and on a roll as of late. Having won 7 of their past 10 games, and becoming the only team in the country to defeat 3 ranked teams on the road. Creighton lost to Butler in the beginning of January by 14, however they have been winning on road against quality opponents and at home by a convincing margin. Butler has been inconsistent and simply not good as of late, mixing losses with wins. I like Creighton -3, bring the points down from -5.5.

The official scorers should reverse this.... I get just Googled Iowa State Cyclones basketball may think about contacting them to try and get in contact with the officials of the game or at least the school they need to know that the public is outraged... and or email the NCAA that's ridiculous, someone else pointed out if they were only down by three and they shot that three As Time expired they would review the call then. |

The link I provided will also show you overall team shooting % as well, if interested...among some other things. Thanks gentleman. Was just interested in shots on goal as I figure, blocks often aren't the shooters fault and can be attributed to each individual opponent's defensive players, and some teams have players that are more willing to block shots more than others. And at this level, I would hope that most teams don't have a lot of missed shots on net, other than that deflections from shots can be luck just as much as anything. I'm just interested in shots on goal. And I guess average per per game, and avg allowed per game.... I think these could be some deciding factors. Thankfully one on Pitt and Wash tonight... however lost on Boston as Jersey started this young kid who is doing pretty good so far with only two starts his name is Blackwood... did some research he was their number 1 pick I think in the 2015 draft and it is a big presence in goal and supposedly was the drafts best North American goalie... Jersey has been the worst team this far in the NHL this season but I will keep an open eye for when he gets the nod from now on. That's a very good point, in regards to offensive potential, I see your point in this regard I will take a look at that as well, thank you so much for this valuable information. |
