The real suckerbet is backing Ajax against such odds. They shouldn't be a favorite against anyone in the CL with their current form. It's too easy to just look at Celtic's away stats. It was a late own goal that decided the match in Milan. A few weeks ago RKC (the league's number last) visited Ajax and took their first ever point from Amsterdam. Ajax just lost at home on saturday and were not able to create any real chances. What makes you think they will against Celtic? Their most important defender isn't starting, they miss key-players in both midfield and attack. Other players are out of form. They just keep possession without creating real chances. I just seen their lineup for today and it looks pathetic once again. A striker posted on the wings, a midfielder taking over the striker role, a leftback as defensive midfielder.
It's just what rattataus said; Ajax has no business being in the CL. Totally agree Vicente87. |

Ok so currently the odds at my book for Ajax to win is at 1.78 and a Celtic win at 4.65 (!). The X2 is at 2.08 and the Draw No Bet at 3.45. Talk about value here. I'm backing Celtic at the X2 and DNB for sure and at such high odds it's hard to not back a Celtic win as well. There is no reason to take this Ajax side now. I'm an Ajax fan and been following them since I was a kid and I haven't seen the squad being as weak as it is right now. It hurts seeing them play this season and I honestly can't see them beating Celtic today. You can throw the Celtic CL away stats out of the window for this one. I believe they have just won one out of their last 25 or so away, but this is the perfect spot to pick up a point or even a win in Amsterdam. Ajax plays on possession and it always works out well for them, but that's just about it these weeks. They have trouble finding the net and lack some serious quality at the moment (besides their goalie there are problems in every line; defense, midfield and attack). Duarte is still injured. Ajax captain Siem de Jong is out of form since he got back from injury. Sigthorsson isn't a typical Ajax striker and got benched or posted on the right wing before Bojan got injured. Blind got transformed from a leftback to a defensive midfielder overnight. Fischer hasn't had a good game all season. Moisander is back from injury but won't start today. Ajax is winless in a month now. Celtic's defence is pretty solid and the odds are just way overrated on Ajax today. Commons is back for Celtic and that's a boost for the team. Boerrigter might make some minutes against his former team. Brown is suspended, but Celtic managed to do well without him in their first match against Ajax. Great value on Celtic.

Turkey Super Lig
Galatasaray - Konyaspor Galatasaray obviously the clear favorites to win, but fridays somehow seem to frustrate them. It seems they are not fully going at it as a friday match is often being played before heading into Europe. An important away match awaits on tuesday in the Champions League against Copenhagen - and that's probably where their main focus is right now. When Gala takes the lead, I can see Mancini making a few precaution substitutes to give his key-players some extra rest. These sides haven't met for a few years now (Konyaspor being promoted after last season). Most Turkish teams will settle for a draw against Gala, so expect Konyaspor to park the bus here and try to counter. Galatasaray has dropped points in 8 of their last 11 friday matches. Sabri is in the lineup today and that's like Galatasaray playing with 10 men . Taking the Under 2.5 goals. |

Dutch First Division (Jupiler League)
Almere City - Fortuna Sittard After Almere City has joined the first division in 2005, they always ended the season outside of the Top 10. A few last places and 13th at best. Usually an underdog in either home and away matches. An all-time home-record of 53W, 31D, 66L with a goal difference of minus 37 says enough. Not your typical home team. Almere City plays in the smallest stadium in The Netherlands (with a capacity of 3,000 seats) and are not getting the best support either (there were only around 1,000 fans at their previous match). So together with their poor record, you can't really speak of home advantage either. Since the league has introduced relegation spots for the first time this year, Almere City are one of the 'favorites' to relegate. They are currently ranked 19th out of the 20 teams in the division. Today they are facing Fortuna Sittard and these teams have met a total of 16 times. Almere City was only able to beat Fortuna Sittard twice and the last time they managed to do so was almost 5 years ago. The last 3 meetings (2 of them being in Almere) were all won by Fortuna. The First Division gives out so called 'period titles'. The one team that collects the most points in the given period, will be awarded with a playoff spot. Fortuna Sittard is still in the race this period, trailing first place by just two points. Their defense seems reliable in away matches, as they kept clean sheets in their last two away and only conceded 5 goals in all away matches (the best in the league). On the other hand, they have only scored 5 away as well -- but given the fact they are going against the second worst home defense and with Fortuna still chasing a period title, I like their chances. A Fortuna Sittard win is at high odds of 2.55, since they miss 2 regulars (RB/CM) -- but the DNB still has nice odds of 1.85. Almere City lost 3 league matches in a row, while Fortuna picked up 7 points out of their last three. |

Dutch Cup
FC Eindhoven - NEC Nijmegen FC Eindhoven has been stuck in the Dutch first division since forever. They haven't been in the Eredivisie for 35+ years and I can't even remember the last time they have defeated a higher division club. FC Eindhoven finished their previous campaign on the last place and their defense (if you can speak of any) is one of the worst out there. They were only able to keep a clean sheet twice in 30 league games and conceded the most goals from all first division teams. They are currently ranked 5th in the table, but don't let this fool you; as they've only finished within the top 5 twice in the last 25 years. Speaking of the 5th place, they also hold this spot for weakest defense at home (out of 20 teams in the division). FC Eindhoven won their previous cup match away at EHC, but they couldn't even hold this amateur team from scoring (1-4 win). Last year, in the same round of the cup, FC Eindhoven got humiliated by amateur team ADO '20 (6-1 loss). NEC Nijmegen started the season very poor, lost their first 3 league matches and got their head coach sacked at the end of august. Since then they went on to play better and lost just twice in their last 8 matches. There were a lot of draws in between, but they finally managed to pick up their first league win last friday (against the higher ranked Heerenveen). This win is just what they needed to improve their morale ahead of the Dutch Cup fixture against FC Eindhoven. NEC only failed to score once in 11 league matches. They've netted 8 in their previous cup match against the amateurs of Harkemase Boys. FC Eindhoven and NEC Nijmegen have previously played each other just twice and these meetings were a while ago already (one friendly in 2011: 0-1 NEC win) and once in the Dutch Cup (2009: 2-3 NEC win). FC Eindhoven is usually between the teams that gets knocked out in the early stages of the cup and I don't see it being different against NEC. NEC at a good price to win at even odds. |

Capital One Cup
Arsenal - Chelsea Midweek footy. Capital One Cup action. B-squads going at it. Difficult to predict? Yeah, I think so. Especially if you don't have a clue of what lineups you are going to get. Chelsea just played on sunday, so most (if not all) starters are out, but damn, should we even call their second choice a "B"-squad? lol. Mata, Luiz, Eto'o, Ba, Essien and De Bruyne didn't even play against City. Wenger already announced to have their lineup mixed with youngsters (as expected). Arsenal just doesn't have as much depth in their squad compared to a team as Chelsea. Arteta won't play, Wilshere isn't 100% fit, Flamini and Walcott are still injured and they probably rest Ozil. Really liking the odds on Chelsea to go through at 1.85 and the win at 2.50. |

Liking the Llodra pick, will follow you on that one. Not too sure what
to think of Anderson these weeks, is his knee still bothering him? I
didn't even expect him to be back this year after he skipped september.
Good luck

Match: PEC Zwolle - Roda JC Kerkrade
League: Eredivisie, The Netherlands PEC Zwolle have only scored 14 goals in 13 home matches, which is the lowest in the Dutch Eredivisie. PEC Zwolle is undefeated in their last 4 matches played at home, winning their last two. PEC Zwolle's Denni Avdic has scored 6 of his 7 goals in a home match. PEC Zwolle knocked Roda JC Kerkrade out of the Dutch Cup this season (0-1). PEC Zwolle injuries: Achenteh (leftback), Slot (midfielder), Drost (midfielder), Narsingh (forward). Roda JC conceded 39 goals in 13 away matches, which is the highest in the Dutch Eredivisie. Roda JC only managed to get 1 away win in these 13 away matches. Roda JC's Sanharib Malki is #6 on the league top scorers list with 12 goals. Roda JC played the first league match of the season against PEC Zwolle, the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Roda JC injuries: Kurto (goalkeeper), Nemeth (forward). Relegation battle between these two sides. It's a cold day in Zwolle (around 35 °F at the moment) with light snowfall. PEC Zwolle is one point ahead of Roda JC Kerkrade. It was expected that PEC Zwolle would fight against relegation, as this is only their third season on the highest level since 1989. Roda JC on the other hand are usually a mid-table team - so they are going through a tough 2012-13 season (they ended last season as the number 10 of the league). Roda JC has a decent squad, but somehow their defense is shaky as hell in away matches. This was no difference last season, where they lost 12 of 17 (away). Besides the 1-1 draw in the league at the start of the season, Roda JC has met PEC Zwolle in Kerkrade for the Dutch Cup (PEC won this match after extra time: 0-1). Kurto is still sidelined with a back injury, but Prus already played last week and only allowed one goal against title contender Feyenoord. Roda JC played a solid second half and deserved atleast a point. PEC Zwolle lost against defending champions Ajax in Amsterdam last week, 3-0. Their intention was to not pick up any injuries and cards, but leftback Achenteh suffered a concussion at the end of the match and is not ready to play today. Roda JC is a different team after the winter break. The difference imo is the addition of forward Frank Demouge. Roda JC has played well with him in the team. A target man playing alongside Malki. Demouge scored 3 in his first 5 appearances. Roda has trained on an artificial pitch this week, as this is where PEC Zwolle plays their home matches on. Both teams were evenly matched in their previous two encounters this season. I don't see either side having an advantage today either, so I like the double chance for Roda JC in this one at -125 odds. |
