Okay now for Texas, the 12-0 Longhorns (8-0) outscored their 4 non- conference opponents 199-40. But they also had a very soft non-conference schedule.
But here is the winning margin for Texas's wins in conference play.
10, 24, 3, 34, 27, 33, 31, and 10.
The 3 was to Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout, which you can never expect that game to be a blow out.
Texas and Nebraska played a lot of the same teams. Texas Tech, Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Colorado.
And Nebraska either lost or had a tough battle in almost everyone of those games, well Texas won all of those games by a large margin other then the 3 to Oklahoma and the 10 to Texas Tech. But Texas Tech is who Nebraska got spanked by at home.
Texas is averaging 43 points per game and 452 total yards a game. Soon to be Heisman trophy winner Colt McCoy has complete 72% of his passes and thrown for 3,330 yards and 27TD's to 9 picks. He has also ran for 370 yards and 2 TD's. Jordan Shipley, one of my favorite players in college football has 99 catches for 1,292 yards and 11 Td's. He has also returned to punts for touchdowns.
Texas also has a great defense. For those of you who watched the Aggies tear them apart last Thursday night, that was very weird and rare. Texas allows 15.4 point per game and just 263 total yards giving up a game. So imagine how good those numbers were before last Thursday.
Now I said before that Nebraska relies a lot on the run and Lee does not throw often. Well problem for you Nebraska because Texas only allows 62 yards a game on the ground, averaging out to 2 yards a carry, just amazing!!
So let's think about this. If Nebraska is not going to be able to run the ball against this amazing front seven of Texas, then what? they are going to have to put the game into Zac Lee's hands?? Yeah I don't think so, this game will get real ugly if that's the case.
I think Texas will be able to score and move the ball against this good Nebraska defense and I really don't think Nebraska is going to be able to do much on offense vs Texas. Zac Lee will make a few errors and give Texas a short field to work with and the Longhorns will capitalize on those opportunities.
Final Score: Texas 34 Nebraska 6
