I liked his explanation on his abortion views.
Moneysrh- evidence of faith as bar for policies claim?
The race thing was a difficult thing for me. I've done alot of thinking about it. There are alot of things that seem fishy to me. The best answer I got from someone is that with racial tensions the way they were back then, holding any priesthood or authority would bring them undue scrutiny and possibly further divide relations. I'm not saying that is a really good reason...just that it's the best reason I got. Besides, its not 1978 anymore even though I can see why that would raise red flags for you.
I don't think alot of what you wrote about mitt is true.
I'm against all those things too, except for maybe stem cell research. I am pro fence, pro waterboarding for certain people. I have a friend that is the product of a rape and she and her mother seem very nice to me.
Whats wrong with a belief not to drink coffee, drugs, or tobacco? That should be a positive.
I live in the heart of Mormonville, and I don't believe it is a cult. It happens to be a very nice place to live with very low crime rate. Teen birth rate is lower.
Obama seems like there should be no limit to surveilance.
Newt is a cheater and you put him above Romney?

America as in the 50 states no, but Natives living in North America absolutely. Numerous grass-covered pyramids found in Illinois and upper Mid West that are dated 2-3,000 years ago.
Seems like he is of sound mind and deserves to be 45th president of the Untied States.
The last minute of that Ron Paul interview should be stuck on repeat.

The Maya is a Mesoamerican civilization, noted for the only known fully developed written language of the pre-Columbian Americas, as well as for its art, architecture, and mathematical and astronomical systems. Initially established during the Pre-Classic period (c. 2000 BC to 250 AD), according to the Mesoamerican chronology, many Maya cities reached their highest state of development during the Classic period (c. 250 to 900 AD), and continued throughout the Post-Classic period until the arrival of the Spanish.
The Maya civilization shares many features with other Mesoamerican civilizations due to the high degree of interaction and cultural diffusion that characterized the region. Advances such as writing, epigraphy, and the calendar did not originate with the Maya; however, their civilization fully developed them. Maya influence can be detected from Honduras, Guatemala, Northern El Salvador and to as far as central Mexico, more than 1,000 km (620 mi) from the Maya area. Many outside influences are found in Maya art and architecture, which are thought to result from trade and cultural exchange rather than direct external conquest.
The Maya peoples never disappeared, neither at the time of the Classic period decline nor with the arrival of the Spanish conquistadores and the subsequent Spanish colonization of the Americas. Today, the Maya and their descendants form sizable populations throughout the Maya area and maintain a distinctive set of traditions and beliefs that are the result of the merger of pre-Columbian and post-Conquest ideas and cultures. Many Mayan languages continue to be spoken as primary languages today; the Rabinal Achí, a play written in the Achi language, was declared a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2005.
Hmmm Mittins may have won that argument.

I agree with you that the earth is filled with really dumb people.
I didn't necesarily defend the planet kolob thing. I just asked you to share your evidence that the idea is complete lunacy. Which you didn't!
You brought up what you thaught to be lunacy but turned out you were dead wrong. There is much evidence that can support what this Book of Mormons claims. And I'd bet that you couldn't support any evidence to the contrary. There are plenty of ruins that date back to the time of Jesus in the Americas.
Please tell me that you've heard of the Inca, Mayans, Aztecs etc.
All I am saying is if your gonna come out and say that a guy is an idiot....by all means make sure he is an idiot.
You failed to mention the story where Joseph Smith was tarred and feathered for his claims. How many people do you know that would stick to their claims even through that?
The Book of Mormon is pretty detailed for him to have pulled out of his ass as you have suggested. How much money did Joseph Smith gain for writing this fiction book?

As I've said before, I live in the heart of Mormonville. I can't help but to know alot about the culture and everything around it.
Some of the people I respect the most in this world are devout Mormons. They are some of the most honest people you can meet.
Are there by products of the hyper religious upbringing? Sure.
The crime rate is very low, even the run down parts of town are very safe.
Steve Young is an alright guy right? He has the same beliefs as Mittens. Do you really think Steve Young is a crazy cult member? Dale Murphy, Danny White, Eric Hipple, Merlin Olson, all crazy cult members right? Those guys all sound pretty docile to me.
What can be so horrible about this:
We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
Ya brother thanks for pointing out that dangerous cult to us!

I'll just tell you that tithing does not go to pay clergy. Mormon clergy do not get paid a dime.
Heavens Gate cult killed themselves and comparing the two is disengenuous. Joe Smith was murdered in jail.
Joes writings the Book of Mormon doesnt speak about his followers at all, or of the Indians.
Catholic church is rife with molestation and child rape to this day. Do you see the Catholic church as a cult?
Catholic theology believes that a priest should be celebate? Why? Perhaps that is the reason there is so much of the above that happens.

believes in the planet kolob
Not saying I believe in kolob or not but I'd be interested to see your evidence that it does not exist.

The points I used to counter your points were adequate.
Mormon clergy do not get paid for their service.
Mormonism is no more a cult than Catholicism or any other religion. What is the likelihood of a Catholic priest molesting a young boy right NOW?
Fundamentals of the church are not even close to the Branch Davidians or Heavens gate cults as you had inferred. The mere comparison is assinine.
Is there some questionable behavior by some important people a long time ago? Yes! Now? NO!
You or I cannot disprove that Kolob doesn't exist. So how can you so definitively pass that off as crazy? You can't.
To me...knowing the vastness of our Universe, for you to so very quickly dismiss other ideas as quackery...speaks volumes.
In the grand scheme of things do you think our 6 billion people are the only things that matter in our galaxy? Our universe?
Get over ourselves!
