Doc Thank you for the read. Looking forward to it. I know the background, the allies, the axis , the people and such. I was watching a documentary and it went into great depth behind D Day. Found it interesting that FDR used Patton as a decoy, betting on Hitler would send more soldiers towards Patton since be was trusted considerably by FDR.

ok I’m a racist, I hate black people, etc, etc NO I’m not I just think there’s a time and a place and sorry Drew but you were right.. the anthem and waving the flag for 90 seconds is a moment to honor who sacrificed their lives to protect us.. or should we just allow Cheerleaders to kneel next year for women’s victims and in 2022 other victims to kneel? Even more important where we’re all these athletes in 2017 and SINCE helping west Chicago’s black youths become better people and in other cities? Do enough good and you get the attention.. be part of the solution But I also want to enjoy my freaking 16 Fall Sunday afternoons with a break from life. If you have a problem with that it’s on you
Many athletes were kneeling before 2017. It didn't become newsworthy until it was politicized as part of Donald Trumps campaign push. I mean, think about it. The networks only used to even air the national anthem for playoff games and the Super Bowl. As far as the timing, I agree that the national anthem isn't the best of times for a protest but who really is to say when is a good time for a protest? Those athletes felt that was the best time to get their point across. That's their right. Futhermore, if you've ever been to a game of any kind, you know there were always who didn't give the anthem the attention it deserves. People who remain seated. People eating hot dogs, drinking beers. It got national attention and all of a sudden everyone was Uncle Sam Q. Patriot.

Aren't I supposed to stay here and fix my own country , like you tell immigrants that want to come here ... I'm sorry what happened to your grandfather. It wasn't right. I'm a first generation American with parents of European descent. They were not treated well either but believed in the country and it's opportunity. It's a different world now but it is still the USA. If you aren't pleased with the country, the rest of the world is open to explore. (Funny how very few people leave here after they get here)
It is beyond offensive to hear sentiments like this from first and second generation Americans when there are people of color whose families have been here for hundreds of years who are still treated like less than citizens and, frankly, less than humans. You're barely American yourself. Your opinion barely matters.

You are lost, my friend...totally lost...it saddens me to realize you are adrift in a sea of liberal mental illness just like all of those other looters out there...the flag was never meant to protect those soldiers who served from racism and blind hate...the flag represents the best of what America has been and the fact that many decide to serve in our military in spite of that racism and blind hate tells you everything you need to know about those Americans...in spite of the mistakes that ideologues and idiots like you have twisted it into... The 2 minutes before a NFL game is not when I want to see any protest!! Or should next year the cheerleaders kneel for women’s rights and the Concessions workers come on the field in 2022 and kneel for Union rights? And very few of the NFL players did anything after 2017 to generate notice or improvements in cities like Chicago that desperately needed it..
Did any work with the police departments in their long off seasons since? So now let’s see actions continue.. but I also think the flag and anthem should stay out of it as there’s enough positive memories attached to it.. taking down statues is a better idea..
And Covers take a deep breath.. by boxing this you did less for humanity

Listen people I’ll rephrase this again!! The 2 minutes before a NFL game is not when I want to see any protest!! As i've said before, they used to air the national anthem for playoff games and the Super Bowl. Airing the anthem for regular season games, to point out this simple and easily ignored attempt at protest, was more of a political ploy than the protest itself. Is it a coincidence that some players did this for years and went unnoticed but it became an issue during an election year?
