Kane was scared to get hit and could only score when wide open. 
Getzlaf had 4 goals.

In the regular season these guys were snipers.  In the playoffs - they were not.  The closest guys being called snipers that Osgood saw were Sharp and Perry....  I know what you're saying here.  I just hope you get what I'm trying to say...

 Lidstrom, Kronwall, Stuart, erricsoon, Rafalski, and co will the crap out of the Cindy& Geno. They haven't faced a discipline D like this in the their run to the finals.

Be over in 5. Too talented and loaded with depth. The Pens D won't be able to handle them. Hossa's gonna run wild!!!

Love the fact people are putting the Pens down so much such as their "D". Makes it all the better.

No doubt Osgood benefits from Wings D but the guy is very steady and never out of position.  His current goal-tending style fits his team perfectly, they don't often ask him to make the spectacular save, just be steady and in pos.  I can remember only 1 soft goal he's given up so far and that's the tie-ing goal yesterday.

No question Fleury has made the more spectacular saves in play-off but goaltending is combo of D and and goaltender himself so how can anyone possibly criticize Osgood's #'s and performance in play-off, esp when he's already won last yr.  If Lids/Dats play all games in Final, hard to not favor Wings.

Pen's D won't know what hit them..the Wings offense will come wave after wave. Plus Gonchar is gimpy.

Carolina did the Penguins no favors by playing subpar hockey in the Conf Finals.  The Wings took on a much tougher opponent and they may be banged up as a result.  But this is hockey and you can play with the pain but when the passing lanes aren't there like they have been the last 4 games the road gets rough.  How many of the Penguins goals were off stupid turnovers.  The Wings just don't play that way.  Wings in 6 or 7

I'm a Penguins fan and that's about the way I see it, BUT I would say a few more than JUST two players for my Pens recently with the play of Fleury (BUT he's either VERY good or VERY bad and needs better rebound control), Gonchar, Guerin, Staal (as a D forward) and Fedotenko.
 
all things being equal, the RW's have the greater depth. you had to be impressed that they could lose two of their top players the last two games of the Bhawks series and STILL win.
 
I think one thing that might help the Penguins is that really shitty B2B to start the finals. they MAY, if they get lucky, get a split in Detroit which could extend the series to 6 or 7. if NOT it's probably RW's in 5 because they will get at least one win in the numbers 3 and 4 games in Pittsburgh.
 
in any case, it's more likely going to be an RW's repeat.

Rink, while not always on the scoresheet, you do not think that Staal, Kennedy, Talbot, Cooke, Feds, Kunitz, Guerin, and even recently Satan  and Adams have been positive contributors in teh last month?   While they lack consistent scoring contribution, I think their overall play has been positive.  Some of the scoring success that Sid/Geno have had is due to their good support play IMO.
 
I think you can say the Wings have better scoring depth, but I do not think this is anywhere near two players vs four lines.

B/C Sid and Malkin are running away with the race, people think that they only have 2 players contributing.  Open up playoff scoring from NHL.com in 2 windows and compare Pittsburgh and Detroit head to head in scoring.  Pitts actually has okay secondary scoring!  Kunitz, Guerin, Fedotenko...  it's not that lop-sided.  The +/- on the other hand.... hoo boy.  Pitts better stay outta the box....

Osgood has been the better of the two goaltenders so far this playoffs.  He was huge in the 2nd period against the Hawks last night.  Guess what folks, the Hawks are a more talented team then the Pens - not saying their better, but more talented.

Lidstrom will be ready to go in game 1 and that is HUGE.  Ericsson and Datsyuk will be soon to follow, game-time decisions in game 1.

Whats interesting for me is to see how Pittsburgh's D will match up against the Wings forwards and depth.  Detroit might be banged up which will be a factor, but they are playoff ready.  Pittsburgh has had any easy ride so far. 

They lucked out not getting Boston in two straight series, by the time Carolina got to them they didn't have anything left.  Washington is a joke, no defense what so ever.  The only person scoring on that team was Ovechkin.  Semin was asleep, Backstrom was ok.

Let's see what the Pens got against the Wings top 4 D.  Fluery will have to steal a game or two for them to win this series which if he plays well, he's capable of.
