Denver's D will have to play the game of their lives. The issue with Denver on offense is they will try and rely on the run to give Stidham shorter 3rd down yardages but they don't run the ball that great and both New England and Houston both have top 6 rush defenses. Then you throw in the fact that 2 of Denver's wide receivers went down yesterday.
Now am I saying that Denver can't win? No. But they will need to play a mistake-free game.
We have had backups wsin but those were all situations where they were on a great team with time to gel with their team. Foles being the most obvious example. If you look back at the end of the regular season he played awful. Then played just good enough vs Atlanat scoring 15 to hold on. But in the CC and SB was spectacular. Its gonna take 85 Bears like defensive effort to win. I don't see it. Denver has plent of games where they gave up s sh!t ton of popints despite their supposed top notch defense.
He'll probably be out of the NFL after next weekend. Players like him hide behind the starter and hope their name never gets called. Curtis Painter was Peyton Mannings backup for years until his name eventually got called.

Sean Payton can come up with a gameplan to at least be in the game against the patriots defense. Facing the pass rush of Houston is an impossible task for Stidham. They’ll do exactly what they’ve done all season. Rush four very effectively and drop everyone else in coverage. The sacks and turnovers could be record breaking.
