Even if he had, and they had won the game, the Bears win gave Philly the 3-seed. 

But obviously they didn't know this when the game started. 

I'm going to assume that they didn't care. Still were gonna host a game next weekend. Still were gonna face Rams, Niners or Packers. Guessing they didn't care about the opponent.

Ok I understand that I guess. Would of had 2 home games with the 2 seed though correct? Only 1 home game is guaranteed with the 3 seed.

 Considering who the Seahawks have playing qb, that number 2 seed is huge imo. All it takes is a stinkbomb from Darnold in his first playoff game and the 1 seed is gone and the 2 seed hosts the rest of the playoffs.

Pretty simple, they held health in higher regard than a win. Did you ever stop to think that losing virtually guaranteed them SF as their 1st round opponent. Definitely the weakest of the bunch, perfect matchup for a weak Eagles squad.

They are a better team than the Niners ... and should be able to handle the Niners at home.

The Niners is a true definition of paper tiger - proven last night.

the difference between playing a playoff game at home vs the road is huge! How about thinking about your fans and your city. The economic ramifications are huge for your city too. They can say resting players but to me it was a huge mistake to not try to win that game.

The bears game finished prior to the eagles game, and they were behind for the majority of it.  The eagles should have been playing to host 2 games rather than 1. 

It was completely risk/reward for Sirianni. The offensive line is banged up and this has unit struggled to begin with and the backups don't really make me feel warm and fuzzy. AJ Brown needed time to get his hamstring 100%. TE Goedert has a sore knee and Calcaterra is hurt from a tackle yesterday. Jalen Carter, Nakobe Dean, Jaelen Phillips, Marcus Epps and several others are not 100%. Sirianni is getting some anger from fans here on talk radio but I think he made the right call. I think the 49ers will run in to a relatively healthy Eagles squad and be on the golf course next week. Besides it's a defense 1st team and this unit can handle being on the road. 

Rest was more important than what was at stake.  Would you rather play a home game against the 49ers or Packers?
