You hear Seattle and Rams great d they give up 30. Today here all about Packer d they give up 30. Houston gets gashed by Raiders then today if not for a penalty would Chargers probably get winning TD

There r no great defenses anymore, between the horrible schemes, the stupid rules and the dumb coaches, good defense is more a product of bad offense than what they actually do.you can’t intimidate anyone nor light their ass up. To win a SB all u need is a hot QB and a scheme that takes advantage of the other team.

The 2024 Superbowl winning Philadelphia Eagles defense disagrees with you. What they did to the Kansas City Chiefs offense was almost criminal.

They most certainly do as highlighted in the game with the bills today! ![]()

Maybe not a popular opinion - but KC is trash and has been on the downward trend for awhile now.
They honestly had no place being in the SuperBowl, let alone a deep playoff run. The refs dragged their ass through most of the regular season and playoffs with some questionable officiating.

Okay? But that doesn't take away from Philadelphia's dominant defense last year in the Superbowl.

Exist?
Tell that to the Defensive-Coordinator of the Houston Texans...keep on bettin' those OVERS
Why not? According to your commentary "defense doesn't 'exist' in the NFL

So with that thought process, the Bears defense in week 17 should of looked like Seattle's defense yesterday.
Cause they played the same trash offense.

The most impressive defensive performance that I could remember was the 2008 Giants in the SB.
They pressured an undefeated Tom Brady with their front 4, sacking him 5 times.
I think the Giants were +13 under dogs, and the total 54 or more.
I remember listening to some Vegas sports book dude on an early AM radio sports show a few days later. He said that the $ that poured in on the fav and the over that week was like they've never seen for a SB.
Final score 17-14 Giants

Defensive Superbowl that comes to mind?
Mine has to be Superbowl 50
Denver/Carolina 2016
Sheriff Payton retires and rides into the sunset a Superbowl winner 24-10
Hell of a defense battle between the 15-1 Panthers and the 12-4 Broncos ![]()

I guess it depends on what you are comparing it to. If 85-86 bears or 2001 ravens then no… there aren’t any good defenses.
I think defense shows more in playoffs these days. Another poster mentioned Philly last year in Super Bowl. Houston’s d looking great down the stretch this year.
Seattle looked pretty damn good last night on d as well. Anyway good luck my friend!
