Let be real... Bo Nix was a mid QB, playing with an top O-line great coach good weapons backed by a top 5 Defense... none of that changes only the Mid QB has changed.
Now talk and speculation is done time to see who guessed right.

i hear you, its a valid question
but bo nix not getting enuf credit for his role in Denver success. first their defense is NOT elite - another poster noted this wisely so "if one has been paying attention one would know" thi
but back to nix - his ability to extend plays, make clutch 3rd down throws, and avoid sacks is underrated. peyton loves him. bronco run game and vis a vis OL really mid at most
having said that i am leaning broncos myself for all the reasons 65% of the public (the covers public forum) is backing them![]()

Yeah he is a big dude and mobile and that's going to be hard to duplicate. It all comes back to why I bet Denver early. The line move was like Denver lost John Elway.
Good thing is in a few hours we will have all the answers.

scary to think Denver has a top 5 defense when teams like Buffalo, Giants, Jax, Colts all lit them up for a ton of points. NE has an offense on par with those teams.
it feels more like they faced some terrible offenses (LAC, KC, LV twice. Jets. Cincy with Browning. Titans) to boost their defensive rankings.
Bo Nix had an outstanding season. Played very good football and used his legs wisely. He's 1000% not "the floor". Stidham is no chump but he's well below Nix. What helps is a very mediocre Patriots defense that will allow Denver to move the ball.
I'm thinkin 27-23 Pats today. No reason Denver at home cant keep pace with Patriots, but getting a win will be tough without one of the better players

@NONEED4LUCK
Kinda have to expect Payton to have a good game script especially early. Get Stidham in a rhythm hopefully and no mistakes. Think it will be a 1 score game... if that one score is a NE TD then Denver is screwed.

well sean peyton sees these guys day in and day out of practice everyday. If you're saying he didnt see what you're saying, means you're smarter then him. there's a reason he was starting and stid never saw the field.

"Outstanding" is a reach. He ranked 14th in QBR, 27th in completion %, 29th in deep throws.
He was very clutch when his team was down, 70% of his tds came with them trailing and as mentioned before he was great at extending plays #1 in pressure to sack rate, which make the highlight reels and he did lead his team to the #1 seed.
I like Nix happy Denver finally has a franchise QB, but my point was he is a 2nd year QB on a great team in a great system.
I don't think Denver needs 280 yards 4 TD and no picks by Stidham to win this game. They need him to be basic good QB...AkA Nix

In my eyes there are two defenses in the league- Houston and Seattle
The rest are average or bad. NE scores points today. I’m thinking 27-30. The question will be can Denver keep up.

agree. Philly's defense is up there as well I think.
Denver's isnt bad but they can be scored on and Pats offense is quite dynamic.

that's fair. I probably overstated it. I think Nix did what QBs need to do...WIN. Those 4Q comebacks werent just luck. They were on the back of a Nix-led offense that got them the victory.
For example, Dak had a pretty good year but Dallas lost a lot of games. Partly due to their terrible defense. But also partly due to Dallas' offense not being good enough when they needed them to be.
"Clutch" might be the word here? I dunno. Could also be a one season wonder and Denver/Nix will be mediocre next year when their schedule gets much harder

I think both these team will have a "prove it again" season next year as both had a pretty "easy" schedule but will face a much tougher road next year.one thing for sure all of our answers will be proven or disproven in 6 hours time and we will have a whole new set of problems that will need to be answered and 2 whole weeks to argue with strangers on the internet about them

Wishful thinking IMO. Do you remember Denver's offense before Nix came there? It was trash. How many other QBs have won whatever it was 11 games in a row this year? I guess you can call that mid... I wouldn't. He brought what they needed - winning ways and a winning aura. I think it's gonna be a significant drop off and this is coming from someone who loves betting on backup QBs to play good one game (then fade them the next)
It's not like he has a good matchup vs a strong NE defense and the Pats also lead the NFL in completion percentage and yards per completion. I don't see a backup coming in and outdueling the other team with those situations.
If he was mid, what what you think his backup would be? Less than mid?
