The chargers are 8-4 but have an incredibly difficult 5 game stretch left.
Philly tonight, then on the road against Kansas City who will be desperate to sneak into playoffs, then on the road against Dallas whose also desperate, then home against Houston followed by their last game being in Denver.
Hopefully they can capitalize on a vulnerable Philly team tonight.

That is correct. For them to have a shot at making the playoffs (their odds are presently around 60-65% if i recall correctly) they need to win at least 2 of their remaining game.
What's left on their schedule are:
Eagles at home (although there will be a HUGE Eagles presence there as we've seen when they played the Rams last) KC at Arrowhead Cowboys at AT&T stadium Texans at home Broncos at Mile High
I think the two games that are most winnable for them are KC and Broncos. I certainly think the Chargers can make this game competitive against the Eagles, but their pass rush vs. the Chargers paper thin O-line may be too much for the Chargers to overcome.
They looked better inserting Jamaree Salyer at LT for the first time this year. If Becton plays maybe he brings motivation to show up his former team. Don't think there's much animosity there as they brought him a championship, but they also didn't extend an offer for him to come back.
I'm still looking at some details for this game.
Herbert with a surgically repaired hand (non-throwing), but with Hampton coming back. Hampton probably will be eased back into his touches, but if he can wear down the run defense and let Kimani Vidal do what he's been doing to other defenses (albeit inferior ones), the Chargers have a shot.
The Chargers run game has really developed the last two weeks and I think Greg Roman shifted to that due to need and go back to the identity he and Harbaugh wants the team to have. But they'll have to mix it up this weekend even thought their Run D is better than their pass D. Chargers have the better 3d down defense and have excelled the past two weeks on 3d down conversions.
This is a razor sharp spread, in my opinion. Not sure if pro Eagle betters are factoring in two key injuries for the Eagles in Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter. It definitely levels the playing field.

Chargers should (and I'm sure they're thinking it too) be playing for the AFC West lead.
They are 2 games behind the Broncos and play them to finish the season.
This is the Broncos remaining schedule:
vs Packers (9-3-1) vs Jaguars (9-4) at Chiefs (6-7) vs Chargers (8-4)
The Chargers need to win this week to stay competitive and from here on need to win ONE more game than the Broncos do leading up to the last game of the season. They're already 1-0 against them so beating them week 19 gives them the tiebreaker.
Broncos could easily lose to the Packers and Jags, and division games are always tough. Especially in Arrowhead.
