Why? Simple. They beat everyone they needed to to get here. Its not their fault that KC was garbage this year, and Baltimore couldn't get out of their own way. It wasn't their fault that Buffalo can't figure out the playoffs under the Josh Allen era. Its not their fault that Bo Nix got hurt.
They were given an opportunity each and every week and they made the most of it. I am not a Patriots fan, but its not their fault that while everyone else stumbled over themselves all year in the AFC, they made the most of it.
Maybe its a flash in the pan, maybe they are building something in New England. Guess we will see.
Congrats to all who took Seattle.

Yes they got beatdown tonight.
But they did deserve to be here tonight.

It was like the Atlanta Falcons in 1998. The Dirty Birds. They got insanely lucky that Vikings beat themselves that year. Then Broncos destroyed them. Only score was a punt return for TD by Tim Dwight. The Vikings/Broncos Super Bowl is what we should have had that year. Likewise it should have been a Denver/Seattle Super Bowl this year.

They beat a team that would have kicked the shit out of them with a healthy quarterback. They didn’t deserve to make it past Denver. It was gifted.
Who knows. But we live in this reality. And in this reality, they made the most of their opportunity and won the game.
If you want to talk like this, maybe the Patriots would have won the 2009 Superbowl instead of Pittsburgh if Brady doesn't tear his ACL in game 1 of the season.

Exactly. They were given an opportunity and they seized it.

Agreed. I said before the playoffs they were phonies. They played some incompetent offenses to get here… Was shocked to see as much love for them as we saw but I guess since they are a public darling of a franchise it makes sense.
