Newbie here. Why are you not supposed to tease through zero. Thinking of taking Seattle +1.5 and Duke -1.5. Thoughts? Tia Bol
Hard to tease a -4.5 point favorite. What value are you really getting with Seattle +1.5? The only outcome that makes it worth the price is a 1 point NE victory in which buying the points actually helped you. On the other hand if you were to tease NE up to +10.5 you’re covering all of the most important key numbers in a football game. 3,4,6,7,10 are all covered and you even win on a 10 point loss because you’ll have +10.5. The only numbers you cover on the Seattle side are 4 and 3. From a teaser standpoint you’re getting waaaay more bang for your buck with the Patriots.
Think about it this way to make it really simple. If Seattle doesn’t cover the 4.5 point spread but still wins by let’s say 3 points, sure your Seattle teaser will cover. But so would a Patriots teaser. Again on the NE side you get a much better chance to be successful regardless of how the game plays out.
