On the one hand you have Drake Maye who finished the regular season with the highest QBR in the NFL with a 77.2. On the other hand you have Bo Nix (58.4), Caleb Williams (58.4) and Sam Darnold (56.3). Interesting to note no QB who finished the regular season with less than a 60.0 QBR has made it to the Super Bowl over the past seven seasons.
Interesting stats, nowadays quarter back performance weighs much more on either winning or losing the NFL games. It used to be splitting the rushing/passing ratio close to 40/60 in terms of winning or losing in the big games.

2 reasons:
1) A great ground game
2) A ferocious defense

Since 2006, only 6 QBS have won the super bowl with a QBR of 70.0 or higher Patrick Mahomes did it twice Tom Brady did it twice Drew Brees did it once Peyton Manning did it once This season, the Qbs with a 70.0 QBR or higher are: Drake Maye 77.2 Jordan Love 72.9 (lost) Brock Purdy 72.6 Matt Stafford 71.1 (only Qb with a QBR over 70 & has won a SB in this years field)
Forgot to mention that those 4 QBs (two won twice) with a QBR of 70.0 or higher that won the SB were amongst 75 QBs that had a 70.0 or higher QBR since 2006, but only 4 could win the SB, two of them doing it twice.

There sure is a lot of weight and blame put on the quarterbacks and rightfully so, but sometimes it's the weakest link in the chain that causes a team to lose. For instance, the right guard that was supposed to be protecting Rodgers last game against Houston, he's why Rodgers was on his ass a lot. Give him some better protection and he might have shined. Along with that, give him a great running back and his rating should improve. So QB is key but it's the whole team.

Overall Season (as of Jan 2, 2026): A QBR of 61.9, ranking 9th among all starting NFL QBs.
Recent Game Example (vs. Chargers): A QBR of 52.4, with 244 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, and a 57.1% completion rate, illustrating how specific performances can differ.
Higher Than Peers: At that time, his QBR was higher than Lamar Jackson's and Bo Nix's, highlighting his efficiency and impact on the Houston Texans.

Let’s throw C.J. Stroud into the equation not to mention his jittery game against the Steelers since The Texans are in the playoffs shall we?

Yes, very interesting stat find there. Looking at last 7 matchups you'll see a heavy dose of redundancy so it would be more interesting to go back further in history.
Mahomes/Hurts Mahomes/Purdy Mahomes/Hurts Stafford/Burrow Mahomes/Brady Mahomes/Jimmy G Brady/Goff
At first glance the next names on this list are Brady/Foles. We all know Foles came in late so he wouldn't qualify here as Wentz led the league in QBR that year before injury, so one could include the streak with asterisk here now going back 8 years. Going back 9 year? Ryan/Brady finished top 2 QBR. So thats 9 straight. Make it 10 ? Nope thats where you find Manning/Cam. Cam qualifies but Peyton was sub 50 QBR, but we all know he had a historically great defense that won them that Chip. Seahawks have that type of defense this year so we could possibly see a similar repeat example should Darnold and his team win the SB here 10 years later.
You will not survive here. You are not a wolf, and this is the land of wolves now...

Stroud, Maye, Stafford, Purdy, Allen.... those are the live guys based on this stat. I think if you continue going back you'll see this consistently. The next two years on the list qualify, 2012 is next non-qualifier with Flacco/Kaep, neither two met this qualifying number.

Perhaps this doesnt apply to C-Dub. I mean he's set an NFL record for most 4th quarter comebacks by a qb under 25 and we just saw another one, a huge 18 point deficit in his very first playoff game scoring 25 points in the 4th qtr alone.

It applies.
